DECISION OF THE PRIME MINISTER
Regarding the establishment of the National Food Security Committee
PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
To enhance coordination among sectors, levels, and organizations in implementing national food security policies and foreign relations on food security;
At the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Minister, Head of the Government Organization and Cadre Affairs Department,
DECISION:
Article 1. The National Food Security Committee is established to coordinate the activities of relevant sectors, levels, and organizations in implementing national food security policies and foreign relations on food security.
Article 2. The National Food Security Committee shall be chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Health, Trade, Foreign Affairs, State Bank, National Reserve Agency, Vietnam Farmers' Association, and Vietnam Women's Union shall each appoint a leading official from their respective agencies to participate in the Committee. Depending on requirements, the Chairman of the National Food Security Committee may decide to supplement additional members from leading officials of food trading enterprises and provincial People's Committees with significant grain production.
Article 3. The Chairman of the National Food Security Committee shall work with the Minister - Head of the Government Organization and Cadre Affairs Department to define specific tasks for the Committee, and shall coordinate with Committee members on working regulations, program plans for Committee activities.
The Chairman of the National Food Security Committee shall regularly report and seek guidance from the Prime Minister on the Committee's operations.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall serve as the permanent body of the National Food Security Committee, responsible for assigning dedicated staff to assist the Committee, providing funding and operational means for the Committee, and using the seal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in its official communications.
Article 4. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of issuance. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, and Chairmen of provincial People's Committees directly under the Central Government shall be responsible for implementing this Decision./.
