DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of the boundaries of districts and communes in Dong Nai Province.
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
At the request of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government;
DECREE:
Article 1.- Adjust the boundaries of districts and communes in Dong Nai Province as follows:
A. Divide Long Thanh District into two districts: Long Thanh District and Nhon Trach District.
Long Thanh District has a natural area of 52,032 hectares, population of 162,169; it includes 16 administrative units as follows: Hoa Hung Commune, Phuc Tan Commune, Tam An Commune, Tam Phuoc Commune, Long Duc Commune, Loc An Commune, Long Phuoc Commune, An Phu Commune, Binh Son Commune, Suoi Trau Commune, Cam Duong Commune, Bau Can Commune, Phuoc Thai Commune, Tan Hiep Commune, Long An Commune, and Long Thanh Town.
The boundary of Long Thanh District: to the East borders Long Khanh District; to the West borders Nhon Trach District and Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City; to the South borders Chau Thanh District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province; to the North borders Bien Hoa City and Thong Nhat District.
Nhon Trach District has a natural area of 40,146 hectares, population of 101,882; it includes 11 administrative units as follows: Phuoc Thien Commune, Phu Hoi Commune, Long Tan Commune, Phu Thanh Commune, Dai Phuoc Commune, Phu Huu Commune, Phuoc Khanh Commune, Vinh Thanh Commune, Phuoc An Commune, Long Tho Commune, and Hiep Phuoc Commune.
The boundary of Nhon Trach District: to the East borders Long Thanh District (new); to the West borders Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City; to the South borders Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City and Chau Thanh District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province; to the North borders Thu Duc District, Ho Chi Minh City.
B. Adjust the boundaries of Phu Hoa Commune, Phu Ngoc Commune, Phu Tuc Commune, and Dinh Quan Town in Dinh Quan District.
1. Divide Phu Hoa Commune into three communes: Phu Loi Commune, Phu Vinh Commune, and Phu Tan Commune;
Phu Loi Commune has a natural area of 2,560 hectares, population of 10,536.
The boundary of Phu Loi Commune: to the East borders Phu Hoa Commune and Tan Phu District; to the West borders Gia Canh Commune and Dinh Quan Town; to the South borders Gia Canh Commune; to the North borders Phu Vinh Commune and Phu Tan Commune.
Phu Vinh Commune has a natural area of 2,430 hectares, population of 11,852.
The boundary of Phu Vinh Commune: to the East borders Phu Tan Commune; to the West borders Ngoc Dien Commune; to the South borders Phu Loi Commune; to the North borders Thanh Son Commune.
Phu Tan Commune has a natural area of 4,062 hectares, population of 8,800.
The boundary of Phu Tan Commune: to the East borders Tan Phu District; to the West borders Phu Vinh Commune and Thanh Son Commune; to the South borders Phu Loi Commune; to the North borders Tan Phu District.
2. Transfer Ward 7 with a natural area of 1,369 hectares, population of 2,851 from Phu Ngoc Commune to be managed by Phu Tuc Commune. Divide Phu Tuc Commune into three new communes: La Nga Commune, Tuc Trung Commune, and Phu Tuc Commune.
La Nga Commune has a natural area of 4,725 hectares, population of 8,753.
The boundary of La Nga Commune: to the East borders Phu Ngoc Commune; to the West borders Phu Cuong Commune and Vinh An Town; to the South borders Tuc Trung Commune; to the North borders Thanh Son Commune and Vinh An Town.
Tuc Trung Commune has a natural area of 4,790 hectares, population of 12,568.
The boundary of Tuc Trung Commune: to the East borders Phu Ngoc Commune; to the West borders Phu Cuong Commune; to the South borders Phu Tuc Commune; to the North borders La Nga Commune.
Phu Tuc Commune has a natural area of 2,890 hectares, population of 13,900.
The boundary of Phu Tuc Commune: to the East borders Suoi Nho Commune; to the West borders Phu Cuong Commune; to the South borders Suoi Nho Commune and Long Khanh District; to the North borders Tuc Trung Commune.
3. Divide Phu Ngoc Commune into three communes: Thanh Son Commune, Ngoc Dien Commune, and Phu Ngoc Commune. Transfer 2,712 hectares of natural area and 6,434 people of Dinh Quan Town to be managed by Phu Ngoc Commune.
Thanh Son Commune has a natural area of 33,050 hectares, population of 12,498.
The boundary of Thanh Son Commune: to the East borders Tan Phu District; to the West borders Vinh An Town; to the South borders La Nga Commune and Ngoc Dien Commune; to the North borders Tan Phu District.
Ngoc Dien Commune has a natural area of 4,276 hectares, population of 8,366.
The boundary of Ngoc Dien Commune: to the East borders Phu Vinh Commune; to the West borders La Nga Commune; to the South borders Phu Ngoc Commune and Dinh Quan Town; to the North borders Thanh Son Commune.
Phu Ngoc Commune: After adjusting the boundaries, it has a natural area of 7,198 hectares, population of 12,761.
The boundary of Phu Ngoc Commune: to the East borders Gia Canh Commune and Dinh Quan Town; to the West borders La Nga Commune and Tuc Trung Commune; to the South borders Xuan Loc District; to the North borders Ngoc Dien Commune.
4. Divide Dinh Quan Town into two administrative units: Gia Canh Commune and Dinh Quan Town.
Gia Canh Commune has a natural area of 18,144 hectares, population of 11,176.
The boundary of Gia Canh Commune: to the East borders Duc Linh District (Binh Thuan Province) and Phu Hoa Commune; to the West borders Phu Ngoc Commune; to the South borders Xuan Loc District; to the North borders Dinh Quan Town.
Dinh Quan Town has a natural area of 1,100 hectares, population of 19,166.
The boundary of Dinh Quan Town: to the East borders Phu Vinh Commune and Phu Loi Commune; to the West borders Phu Ngoc Commune; to the South borders Gia Canh Commune; to the North borders Ngoc Dien Commune.
After adjusting the boundaries, Dinh Quan District has 14 administrative units which are communes: Phu Loi Commune, Phu Vinh Commune, Phu Tan Commune, Gia Canh Commune, Ngoc Dien Commune, Thanh Son Commune, Phu Ngoc Commune, La Nga Commune, Tuc Trung Commune, Phu Tuc Commune, Phu Hoa Commune, Phu Cuong Commune, Suoi Nho Commune, and Dinh Quan Town.
Article 2.- This Decree takes effect from the date of issuance, all previous regulations contrary to this Decree shall be abolished.
Article 3.- The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government are responsible for implementing this Decree.
