Decree No. 52/CP Regarding the Adjustment of Administrative Boundaries of Some Communes, Towns, and Urban Townships in Tuần Giáo, Điện Biên, Phong Thổ, Mường Lay Districts and Điện Biên Phủ City, Lai Châu Province

 DECREE OF THE GOVERNMENT

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries for some communes, wards, and towns under the districts of Tuần Giáo, Điện Biên, Phong Thổ, Mường Lay, and the city of Điện Biên Phủ, Province of Lai Châu

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Châu Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government.

DECREE:

Article 1. - Now, we adjust the administrative boundaries of some towns and communes under the districts of Tuần Giáo, Phong Thổ, Mường Lay, and establish a ward under the city of Điện Biên Phủ, Province of Lai Châu as follows:

1. Dissolve the Tam Đường agricultural farm town under Phong Thổ district, the Điện Biên agricultural farm town under Điện Biên district, and the Mường Ẳng agricultural farm town under Tuần Giáo district. The residents currently living within the aforementioned agricultural farm towns shall be transferred to the management of the commune where they reside.

2. Establish the Mường Ẳng town under Tuần Giáo district based on 502 hectares of natural area and 2,900 population from the Ẳng Nưa commune. The administrative boundary of the Mường Ẳng town: East borders the Ẳng Tở commune; West and North border the Ẳng Nưa commune; South borders the Ẳng Cang commune. After adjusting the administrative boundary, the Ẳng Nưa commune will retain 2,880 hectares of natural area and 3,011 population.

3. Merge 64.5 hectares of natural area and 1,622 population from the Thanh Luông commune, Điện Biên district, into the city of Điện Biên Phủ and establish the Thanh Bình ward. The Thanh Bình ward has 64.5 hectares of natural area and 1,622 population. The administrative boundary of the Thanh Bình ward: East borders the Him Lam ward and the Mường Thanh ward; West borders the Thanh Luông commune; South borders the Thanh Hưng commune; North borders the Thanh Nưa commune. After adjusting the administrative boundary, the Thanh Luông commune retains 3,767 hectares of natural area and 4,614 population.

4. Establish the Si Pa Phìn commune under Mường Lay district based on 27,098 hectares of natural area and 4,789 population from the Chà Nưa commune. The administrative boundary of the Si Pa Phìn commune: East borders the Huổi Lèng commune and the Mường Tùng commune; West borders the Vietnam-Laos border; South borders the Mường Mươn commune and the Vietnam-Laos border; North borders the Chà Nưa commune. After adjusting the administrative boundary, the Chà Nưa commune retains 15,400 hectares of natural area and 2,577 population.

Article 2. - Nghị định này có hiệu lực sau 15 ngày kể từ ngày ký. Mọi quy định trước đây trái với Nghị định này đều bãi bỏ.

Article 3. - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Châu Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
