DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries to establish communes, wards, and towns in Thoai Son, Phu Tan, Tan Chau districts and Chau Doc city, An Giang province
Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes, wards, and towns in Thoai Son, Phu Tan, Tan Chau districts and Chau Doc city, An Giang province as follows:
1. Establishing Vinh My ward under Chau Doc city based on 779.6 hectares of natural area and 14,870 population of Vinh My commune.

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Administrative boundary of Vinh My ward: East borders Chau Phu district; West borders Chau Phu B ward; South borders Vinh Chau commune; North borders Phu Tan district.
After establishing Vinh My ward, Vinh My commune remains with 2,168.4 hectares of natural area and 3,357 population.
Changing the name of Vinh My commune to Vinh Chau commune.
2. Establishing Oc Eo town under Thoai Son district based on 989.9 hectares of natural area and 11,819 population of Vuong The commune.
Administrative boundary of Oc Eo town: East borders Vuong Dong commune; West borders Kien Giang province; South borders Binh Thanh commune and Kien Giang province; North borders Vuong The commune.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish Oc Eo town, Vuong The commune remains with 3,700.1 hectares of natural area and 6,558 population.
3. Establishing Binh Thanh commune under Thoai Son district based on 837.3 hectares of natural area and 498 population of Vuong The commune, 2,111 hectares of natural area and 10,489 population of Thoai Giang commune.
Binh Thanh commune has 2,948.3 hectares of natural area and 10,987 population.
Administrative boundary of Binh Thanh commune: East borders Can Tho city; West borders Oc Eo town and Kien Giang province; South borders Kien Giang province; North borders Vuong Dong, Thoai Giang communes and Nui Sap town.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish Binh Thanh commune:
Vuong The commune remains with 2,862.8 hectares of natural area and 6,060 population.
Thoai Giang commune remains with 2,616 hectares of natural area and 11,279 population.
4. Establishing Long Hoa commune under Phu Tan district based on 780 hectares of natural area and 8,757 population of Long Son commune.
Administrative boundary of Long Hoa commune: East borders Dong Thap province; West borders Long Son commune; South borders Phu Lam commune; North borders Dong Thap province.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to establish Long Hoa commune, Long Son commune remains with 1,299 hectares of natural area and 13,006 population.
5. Transferring 165 hectares of natural area and 3,484 population of Long An commune under Tan Chau district to be managed by Tan Chau town.
Administrative boundary of Tan Chau town: East borders Phu Tan district; West borders Long An commune; South borders Long Phu commune; North borders Dong Thap province.
After adjusting administrative boundaries to expand Tan Chau town:
Tan Chau town has 751 hectares of natural area and 36,478 population.
Long An commune remains with 1,197 hectares of natural area and 13,918 population.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, the Minister of Interior, and the Heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
