DECREE

Regarding the establishment of communes under the districts of Chu Prong, Ayun Pa and the transfer of commune Ia Khen from district Ia Grai to Pleiku city, Gia Lai province

 I. Ia Khen commune from Ia Grai district to Pleiku city, Gia Lai province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government.

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes under the districts of Chu Prong, Ayun Pa and transfer commune Ia Khen from Ia Grai district to Pleiku city, Gia Lai province as follows:

1. Establishing commune Ia Ga under Chu Prong district based on 5,464 hectares of natural area and 1,042 population of commune Ia Pia; 6,813 hectares of natural area and 1,058 population of commune Ia Lau.

Commune Ia Ga has 12,277 hectares of natural area and 2,100 population.

Administrative boundary of commune Ia Ga: East borders commune Ia Ve; West borders commune Ia Mo; South borders commune Ia Lau; North borders communes Ia Pia and Ia Me.

2. Establishing commune Ia Pier under Chu Prong district based on 9,629 hectares of natural area and 3,908 population of commune Ia Lau.

Administrative boundary of commune Ia Pier: East borders Chu Se district; West borders commune Ia Mo; South borders Dak Lak province; North borders commune Ia Lau. 

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish communes Ia Ga and Ia Pier:

- Commune Ia Pia remains with 4,492 hectares of natural area and 3,599 population.

- Commune Ia Lau remains with 11,718 hectares of natural area and 4,223 population.

3. Establishing commune Ia Drang under Chu Prong district based on 1,421 hectares of natural area and 1,486 population of commune Thang Hung; 1,931 hectares of natural area and 1,039 population of commune Binh Giao; 753 hectares of natural area and 3,056 population of commune Ia Boung.

Commune Ia Drang has 4,105 hectares of natural area and 5,581 population.

Administrative boundary of commune Ia Drang: East borders commune Ia Phin and town Chư Prong; West borders commune Ia O and Duc Co district; South borders commune Ia Boung; North borders communes Binh Giao and Thang Hung.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish commune Ia Drang:

- Commune Thang Hung remains with 3,800 hectares of natural area and 4,813 population.

- Commune Binh Giao remains with 4,294.6 hectares of natural area and 4,581 population.

- Commune Ia Boung remains with 5,184 hectares of natural area and 4,183 population.

4. Establishing commune Ia Peng under Ayun Pa district based on 1,800 hectares of natural area and 2,982 population of commune Ia Piar.

Administrative boundary of commune Ia Peng: East borders commune Ia Yeng; West borders commune Ia Piar; South borders commune Ia Hiao; North borders commune Ia Piar.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish commune Ia Peng, commune Ia Piar remains with 9,507 hectares of natural area and 4,510 population.

5. Establishing commune Ia Ke under Ayun Pa district based on 5,928 hectares of natural area and 8,579 population of commune Chu A Thai.

Administrative boundary of commune Ia Ke: East borders commune Ia Sol and Phu Thien town; West borders commune HBong and Chu Se district; South borders commune Ia Sol; North borders commune Chu A Thai. 

After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish commune Ia Ke, commune Chu A Thai remains with 7,431 hectares of natural area and 2,236 population.

6. Transferring commune Ia Khen from Ia Grai district to be managed by Pleiku city.

Article 2. This Decree takes effect from the date of signature. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province, the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadre Department of the Government, and heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
