Pursuant to Decree No. 86/2003/NĐ-CP dated July 18, 2003 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
Pursuant to the Intellectual Property Law No. 50/2005/QH11 dated November 29, 2005;
Pursuant to Decree No. 104/2006/NĐ-CP dated September 22, 2006 on detailed regulations concerning certain provisions of the Intellectual Property Law regarding rights over plant varieties;
At the proposal of the Director of the Crop Production Department,
DECISION:
Article 1. Supplement the following 12 plant species to the List of Plant Species for Protection:

Article 2. Allocate the following units to conduct DUS testing for the plant species listed in Article 1:
1. National Seed and Product Testing Center conducts DUS testing for the plant species: Sugarcane.
2. Vegetable and Fruit Research Institute under the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences conducts DUS testing for the plant species: Chili Pepper, Gerbera, Lily, Carnation;
3. Dalat Vegetable, Flower and Fruit Research Center under the Southern Agricultural Science and Technology Institute conducts DUS testing for the plant species: Daffodil, Carrot, Strawberry;
4. Southern Fruit Tree Research Institute conducts DUS testing for the plant species: Mango, Orange;
5. Plant Genetic Resources Center under the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences conducts DUS testing for the plant species: Ginger, Pumpkin;
Article 3. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
Article 4. The Head of the Office, Director of the Crop Production Department, Director of the Science and Technology Department, Directors of the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of provinces and centrally governed cities, Head of the New Plant Variety Protection Office, Heads of relevant units, and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
