DECREE-LAW

No.  58 dated May 3, 946

 

CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

Pursuant to the Decree-Law of May 3, 1945 organizing Ministries;

In accordance with the proposal of the Ministry of Interior;

After deliberation by the Council of Ministers;

 

ISSUES THE DECREE-ORDER:

Article 1: The Ministry of Interior shall consist of:

I. Office, under the control of a Director of Office.

II. Inspectorate Department, with the duty to inspect and report on administrative and political matters. This department is directly under the authority of the Minister and will be organized by a separate Decree-Law.

III. Five Departments with the following duties, under the control of an Assistant Director:

1. Civil Service and Accounting Department: regulations and management of civil servants - accounting within the Ministry;

2. Legal Affairs Department: legal matters and administration;

3. Information and Propaganda Department: collection and dissemination of domestic news;

4. Vietnam Public Security Bureau: public security affairs;

5. Ethnic Minorities Department: examination of political and administrative issues concerning ethnic minorities within the country, and strengthening friendly relations among ethnic groups living in Vietnam.

Each Department shall have a Director to manage it.

Article 2: The detailed organization of the Office and Departments will be determined by a Decree of the Minister of Interior at a later date.

The Decree of the Minister of Interior dated January 19, 1946 is hereby repealed.

Article 3: The Minister of Interior shall implement this Decree-Law in accordance with its provisions./.
