DECREE

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries and division of

Phong Chau and Tam Thanh districts, Phu Tho province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Considering the proposal of the Chairman Within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the dossier as mentioned in Sub-clause b, Clause 1, Article 3 above, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will review and submit to the competent authority for decision (Issues exceeding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' jurisdiction will be referred to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision).The People's Committee of Phu Tho province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government,

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, divide Phong Chau district and Tam Thanh district to re-establish Lam Thao, Phu Ninh, Tam Nong, Thanh Thuy districts of Phu Tho province as follows:

1. Divide Phong Chau district into Lam Thao district and Phu Ninh district.

Lam Thao district has 12,534 hectares of natural area and 122,038 population, comprising 17 subordinate administrative units which are communes: Ha Thach, Son Vi, Thach Son, Hop Hai, Ban Nguyen, Kinh Ke, Vinh Lai, Cao Xa, Tien Kien, Hy Cuong, Chu Hoa, Thanh Ding, Son Duong, Tu Xa, Xuan Lung, Xuan Huy and Lam Thao town.

Administrative boundary of Lam Thao district: East borders Viet Tri city; West borders Tam Nong district and Phu Tho town; South borders Ha Tay province; North borders Phu Ninh district.

Phu Ninh district has 17,764 hectares of natural area and 118,669 population, comprising 21 subordinate administrative units which are communes: Lien Hoa, Phu My, Tran Than, Tien Phu, Tri Quan, Ha Gap, Tien Du, An Dao, Binh Bo, Tu Da, Vinh Phu, Hung Lo, Trung Gap, Bao Thanh, Gia Thanh, Phu Loc, Phu Ham, Kim Duc, Phu Ninh, Phong Chau town and Phu Ho town.

Administrative boundary of Phu Ninh district: East borders Vinh Phuc province; West borders Thanh Ba district and Phu Tho town; South borders Viet Tri city and Lam Thao district; North borders Doan Hung district and Tuyen Quang province.

2. Divide Tam Thanh district into Tam Nong district and Thanh Thuy district.

Tam Nong district has 14,659 hectares of natural area and 79,112 population, comprising 20 subordinate administrative units which are communes: Hung Do, Quang Huc, Hien Quan, Thanh Uyen, Tam Cuong, Van Luong, Co Tiet, Huong Non, Tho Van, Di Nau, Dau Duong, Thuong Nong, Hong Da, Phuong Thinh, Te Le, Tu My, Xuan Quang, Huong Nha, Vuc Truong and Hung Hoa town.

Administrative boundary of Tam Nong district: East borders Lam Thao district and Ha Tay province; West borders Thanh Son, Yen Lap, Song Thao districts; South borders Thanh Thuy district; North borders Thanh Ba district and Phu Tho town.

Thanh Thuy district has 12,097 hectares of natural area and 72,900 population, comprising 15 subordinate administrative units which are communes: Xuan Loc, Thach Dong, Tan Phuong, La Phu, Bao Yen, Doan Ha, Son Thuy, Hoang Xa, Trung Thinh, Dong Luan, Trung Nghia, Phuong Mao, Yen Mao, Tu Vu and Dao Xa.

Administrative boundary of Thanh Thuy district: East borders Ha Tay province; West borders Thanh Son district; South borders Hoa Binh province; North borders Tam Nong district.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of issuance. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government and heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
