DECREE

Regarding the adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Thanh Son district

to establish Tan Son district, Phu Tho province

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province,

DECREE:

Article 1. The administrative boundaries of Thanh Son district shall be adjusted to establish Tan Son district, Phu Tho province as follows:

1. Establish Tan Son district under Phu Tho province based on the adjustment of 68,858 hectares of natural area and 73,406 population from Thanh Son district (including the entire natural area and population of the communes: My Thuan, Tan Phu, Thu Ngac, Thach Kiet, Thu Cuc, Lai Dong, Dong Son, Tan Son, Kiet Son, Xuan Dai, Kim Thuong, Xuan Son, Minh Dai, Van Luong, Long Coc, Tam Thanh, Vinh Tien).

Tan Son district has 68,858 hectares of natural area and 73,406 population, with 17 administrative units directly subordinate, which are adjusted from the aforementioned Thanh Son district.

The administrative boundary of Tan Son district: East borders Thanh Son district; West borders Son La province; South borders Hoa Binh province; North borders Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province and Yen Bai province.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries:

Thanh Son district retains 62,063 hectares of natural area and 116,905 population, with 23 directly subordinate administrative units, including the communes: Son Hung, Dich Qua, Giai Lai, Thuc Luyen, Vo Mieu, Thach Khoan, Cu Thang, Tat Thang, Van Mieu, Cu Dong, Thang Son, Tan Minh, Huong Can, Kha Cuu, Tan Lap, Dong Cuu, Yen Lang, Yen Luong, Thang Cuu, Luong Nha, Yen Son, Tinh Nhu and the town of Thanh Son.

Phu Tho province has 13 directly subordinate administrative units, including: Viet Tri city, Phu Tho city and the districts: Doan Hung, Ha Hoa, Thanh Ba, Cam Khe, Phu Nin, Lam Thao, Tam Nong, Thanh Thuy, Yen Lap, Thanh Son and Tan Son.

Article 2. This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
