PRIME MINISTER
BASED ON the Law on Government Organization dated September 30, 1992;
Pursuant to Decree No. 15/CP dated March 2, 1993 on the tasks, powers, and state management responsibilities of ministries and ministerial-level agencies;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Transport at Circular No. 3637/TTr-BGTVT dated October 27, 2000 and the proposal of the Minister of Education and Training at Official Letter No. 10790/TCCB dated November 28, 2000,
DECISION:
Article 1. The Ho Chi Minh City University of Transportation shall be established based on the Maritime University Branch of the Maritime University under the Ministry of Transport.
Article 2. The Ho Chi Minh City University of Transportation shall have the task of training undergraduate level and conducting scientific research to serve economic and social development.
Article 3. The Ho Chi Minh City University of Transportation is a direct subordinate institution of the Ministry of Transport for higher education purposes and is subject to the state management of education and training by the Ministry of Education and Training. The University has its own legal personality, seal, and separate account. Its headquarters is located in Ho Chi Minh City.
This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of signature.
Article 5. The Minister of Transport, the Minister of Education and Training, the ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of government agencies, chairpersons of provincial and municipal people's committees directly under the central government, and the Rector of the Maritime University are responsible for implementing this Decision.
