DECREE NO. 68-CP OF JULY 11, 1994 ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TAN PHUOC DISTRICT UNDER TIEN GIANG PROVINCE
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Pursuant to the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government,
DECREE:
Article 1.-Establish Tan Phuoc District under Tien Giang Province based on the natural area of 10,634.72 hectares (including 580 hectares transferred to Long An Province) and population of 5,698 from Cai Lay District, and the natural area of 23,486.53 hectares (including 550.81 hectares transferred to Long An Province) and population of 36,333 from Chau Thanh District.
Tan Phuoc District has a total natural area of 32,991.44 hectares; population of 42,031; consisting of 13 administrative units as follows:
1- Phu My Commune with a natural area of 1,228.80 hectares; population of 8,091.
The boundary of Phu My Commune: East borders Long An Province; West borders Hung Thanh Commune; South borders Tan Hoa Thanh Commune; North borders Long An Province and Tan Hoa Dong Commune.
2- Tan Hoa Thanh Commune with a natural area of 1,747 hectares; population of 8,360.
The boundary of Tan Hoa Thanh Commune: East borders Long An Province; West borders Tan Lap 2 Commune; South borders Tan Ly Dong Commune and Tan Lap 1 Commune; North borders Phu My Commune and Hung Thanh Commune.
3- Hung Thanh Commune with a natural area of 3,124.07 hectares; population of 5,340.

Consisting of 24 administrative units including Phu Phong, Kim Son, Song Thuan, Ban Long, Vinh Kim, Binh Trung, Huu Dao, Dong Hoa, Long Hung, Duong Dien, Dien Hi, Nhi Binh, Long Ding, Tam Hiep, Phuc Thanh, Thanh Phu, Binh Duc, Than Cuu Nghia, Tan Ly Tay, Tan Ly Dong, Tan Hoi Dong, Tan Huong, Long An and Tan Hiep Town.
The boundary of Chau Thanh District: East borders Cho Gao District and My Tho City; West borders Cai Lay District; South borders Ben Tre Province; North borders Tan Phuoc District.
Article 2.- This Decree takes effect from the date of signing; all provisions in previous documents that conflict with this Decree shall be abolished.
Article 3.- The Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization-Cadres Department of the Government are responsible for implementing this Decree.
