DECREE

regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries,

establishing some communes, wards, and districts of Ia Grai in Gia Lai province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province and the Minister, Head of the Organization and Cadre Department of the Government;

 

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, we adjust the administrative boundaries and establish some communes, wards, and the district of Ia Grai in Gia Lai province as follows:

I. Adjustment of administrative boundaries of some communes under Mang Yang District and Pleiku City:

Mang Yang District

1- Detach 3,700 hectares of natural area and 967 population from Dak Doa commune to establish Dak Tro Ver commune.

- Dak Tro Ver commune has 3,700 hectares of natural area and 967 population. The boundary of Dak Tro Ver commune: East borders Dak Doa commune (new); West borders Ia Khourl and Chu Dang Ya communes; South borders Chu Dang Ya and Dak Doa communes (new); North borders Ha Tay commune.

- Dak Doa commune retains 19,189 hectares of natural area and 5,333 population.

2- Detach 4,200 hectares of natural area and 854 population from Ha Bau commune to establish Chu Dang Ya commune.

- Chu Dang Ya commune has 4,200 hectares of natural area and 854 population. The boundary of Chu Dang Ya commune: East borders Dak Doa commune; West borders Biển Hồ and Chu Jor communes; South borders Ha Bau commune (new); North borders Hoa Phu, Ia Khourl, and Dak Doa communes.

- Ha Bau commune retains 4,847 hectares of natural area and 4,273 population.

Pleiku City:

1- Detach 850 hectares of natural area and 3,516 population from Chu Jor commune to establish Tan Son commune.

- Tan Son commune has 850 hectares of natural area and 3,516 population.

The boundary of Tan Son commune: East borders Ha Bau and Biển Hồ communes; West and South border Biển Hồ commune; North borders Chu Jor and Biển Hồ communes.

- Chu Jor commune retains 1,200 hectares of natural area and 696 population.

2- Establish Nghia Hung commune under Pleiku City based on 2,550 hectares of natural area and 4,069 population (including villages 7, 8, 9 of Ia Luu village, Ia Nhing village) of Biển Hồ commune under Pleiku City; 261.7 hectares of natural area and 809 population (including villages Bi, Brong, Krung) of Ia Sao commune under Chư Pah District.

- Nghia Hung commune has 2,811.7 hectares of natural area and 4,878 population.

The boundary of Nghia Hung commune: East borders Chu Jor and Ha Bau communes (Mang Yang District); West borders Ia Sao and Nghia Hoa communes (Chư Pah District); South borders Ia Sao commune (Chư Pah District) and Biển Hồ commune; North borders Nghia Hoa commune (Chư Pah District) and Ha Bau commune (Mang Yang District).

After adjusting the administrative boundaries:

- Biển Hồ commune (Pleiku City) retains 3,206 hectares of natural area and 13,939 population.

- Ia Sao commune (Chư Pah District) retains 7,638.3 hectares of natural area and 12,692 population.

II. Adjustment of administrative boundaries of Mang Yang District, Pleiku City, and establishment of Ia Grai District:

Merge three communes of Mang Yang District, Ha Tay, Dak Tro Ver, and Chu Dang Ya with 29,600 hectares of natural area and 4,274 population into Chư Pah District, and two communes of Pleiku City: Chu Jor and Nghia Hung with 4,011.7 hectares of natural area and 5,574 population.

Divide Chư Pah District into two districts: Chư Pah and Ia Grai.

1- New Chư Pah District has 98,354.4 hectares of natural area and 42,258 population, including 11 communes: Ia Khourl, Ia Mo Nong, Ia Ka, Ia Phi, Hoa Phu, Nghia Hoa (of old Chư Pah District), Ha Tay, Dak Tro Ver, Chu Dang Yang (transferred from Mang Yang District), Chu Jor, Nghia Hung (transferred from Pleiku City).

The boundary of Chư Pah District: East borders Mang Yang District; West and North border Kon Tum Province; South borders Ia Grai District, Pleiku City, and Mang Yang District.

2- Ia Grai District has 115,720.5 hectares of natural area and 50,431 population, including 9 communes: Ia Sao, Ia Rung, Ia Krai, Ia Grai, Ia Ken, Ia O, Ia Der, Ia Cha, Ia Pech, and Chư Pah town (of old Chư Pah District).

The boundary of Ia Grai District: East borders Pleiku City; West borders Kon Tum Province and Vietnam-Cambodia border; South borders Duc Co, Chu Prong, and Pleiku City; North borders Chư Pah District.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries:

- Mang Yang District retains 23 communes and towns; has 208,601 hectares of natural area and 88,242 population.

- Pleiku City retains 14 communes and wards; has 22,568.5 hectares of natural area and 159,987 population.

III. Establishment of towns and renaming of communes and towns under Ia Grai District and Chư Pah District.

1- Establish Phu Hoa town, the district capital of new Chư Pah District, based on 2,600 hectares of natural area and 3,079 population of Nghia Hoa commune.

The boundary of Phu Hoa town: East borders Nghia Hung commune; West borders Nghia Hoa commune; South borders Nghia Hung, Nghia Hoa, and Ia Sao communes; North borders Hoa Phu commune. Nghia Hoa commune retains 2,300 hectares of natural area and 2,710 population.

2- Rename Chư Pah town under Ia Grai District to Ia Kha town.

3- Rename Ia Grai commune under Ia Grai District to Ia To commune.

Article 2. This Decree takes effect from the date of issuance. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province and the Minister - Head of the Organization and Cadre Department of the Government are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
