DECREE OF THE GOVERNMENT
Regarding the establishment of communes and towns under Dien Bien and Dien Bien Dong districts, Dien Bien province
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province,
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes and towns under Dien Bien and Dien Bien Dong districts, Dien Bien province as follows:
DECREE:
Article 1. 1. Establishing Nà Nhạn commune under Dien Bien district based on 7,681 hectares of natural area and 3,797 population from Nà Tấu commune.
Commune Nà Nhạn has 7,681 hectares of natural area and 3,797 population.
Administrative boundary of Nà Nhạn commune: East borders Nà Tấu commune; West borders Mường Pồn commune; South borders Mường Phăng commune and the city of Dien Bien Phu; North borders Nà Tấu and Mường Pồn communes.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Nà Nhạn commune, Nà Tấu commune remains with 7,429 hectares of natural area and 5,017 population.
2. Establishing Nong U commune under Dien Bien Dong district based on 7,900 hectares of natural area and 2,478 population from Pu Nhi commune.
Commune Nong U has 7,900 hectares of natural area and 2,478 population.
Administrative boundary of Nong U commune: East borders Na Son commune; West borders Dien Bien district; South borders Keo Lom commune; North borders Pu Nhi commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Nong U commune, Pu Nhi commune remains with 10,000 hectares of natural area and 3,597 population.
3. Establishing Pú Hồng commune under Dien Bien Dong district based on 12,650 hectares of natural area and 3,443 population from Phình Giàng commune.

Administrative boundary of Pú Hồng commune: East borders Háng Lìa and Son La province; West and South border Dien Bien district; North borders Phình Giàng commune.

4. Establishing Tìa Dình commune under Dien Bien Dong district based on 9,882 hectares of natural area and 2,468 population from Háng Lìa commune.
Commune Tìa Dình has 9,882 hectares of natural area and 2,468 population.
Administrative boundary of Tìa Dình commune: East borders Son La province; West borders Phình Giàng commune; South borders Son La province; North borders Háng Lìa commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Tìa Dình commune, Háng Lìa commune remains with 6,563 hectares of natural area and 2,336 population.
5. Establishing Dien Bien Dong town - the district capital of Dien Bien Dong district based on 1,890 hectares of natural area and 2,986 population from Na Son commune.
Administrative boundary of Dien Bien Dong town: East borders Phì Nhừ commune; West borders Na Son commune; South borders Keo Lom commune; North borders Na Son commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Dien Bien Dong town, Na Son commune remains with 7,359 hectares of natural area and 2,954 population.
This Decree takes effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 2. The People's Committee of Dien Bien province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./..
