DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and wards;
establishment of wards under Thu Dau Montown, Binh Duong province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province,
DECREE:
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of communes and wards shall be adjusted; new wards shall be established under Thu Dau Montown, Binh Duong province as follows;
1. Adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and wards under Thu Dau Montown
a. Adjusting 83.083 hectares of natural area and 2,093 population of Tan An commune to be managed by Tuong Binh Hiep commune;
b. Adjusting 35.4 hectares of natural area and 2,381 population of Phu Tho ward to be managed by Chanh Nghia ward;
c. Adjusting 53.44 hectares of natural area of Phu My commune to be managed by Phu Loi ward.
2. Establishment of wards under Thu Dau Montown
a. Establishing Hiệp An ward under Thu Dau Montown based on the entire 569.37 hectares of natural area and 13,032 population of Hiệp An commune; 138.738 hectares of natural area and 3,305 population of Tuong Binh Hiep commune.
Hiêp An ward has 708.108 hectares of natural area and 16,377 population.
Administrative boundary of Hiêp An ward: East borders with Định Hòa ward, Thu Dau Montown; West borders with Tân An and Tuong Binh Hiep communes, Thu Dau Montown; South borders with Định Hòa ward, Thu Dau Montown; North borders with Phú An and Tân Định communes, Bến Cát district.
b. Establishing Định Hòa ward under Thu Dau Montown based on the entire 1,427.49 hectares of natural area and 12,347 population of Định Hòa commune.
Định Hòa ward has 1,427.49 hectares of natural area and 12,347 population.
Administrative boundary of Định Hòa ward: East borders with Phú Mỹ and Phú Lợi wards, Thu Dau Montown; West borders with Hiêp An ward and Tuong Binh Hiep commune, Thu Dau Montown; South borders with Hiêp Thành ward, Thu Dau Montown; North borders with Hòa Lợi commune, Bến Cát district and Phú Chánh commune, Tân Uyên district.
c. Establishing Phú Mỹ ward under Thu Dau Montown based on the entire 1,287.67 hectares of natural area and 11,345 population of Phú Mỹ commune.
Phú Mỹ ward has 1,287.67 hectares of natural area and 11,345 population.
Administrative boundary of Phú Mỹ ward: East borders with Tân Vĩnh Hiệp commune, Tân Uyên district; West borders with Hiêp Thành and Định Hòa wards, Thu Dau Montown; South borders with Phú Lợi ward; North borders with Phú Chánh commune, Tân Uyên district.
After adjusting administrative boundaries and establishing wards:
- Tan An commune retains 1,014.857 hectares of natural area and 11,757 population.
- Tuong Binh Hiep commune retains 520.464 hectares of natural area and 12,717 population.
- Phu Tho ward retains 475.04 hectares of natural area and 19,681 population.
- Chanh Nghia ward has 476.95 hectares of natural area and 22,116 population.
- Phu Loi ward has 697.67 hectares of natural area and 21,541 population.
Thu Dau Montown has 8,787.65 hectares of natural area and 199,543 population; it has 12 subordinate administrative units, including the wards: Phú Cường, Hiêp Thành, Phú Hòa, Chanh Nghia, Phu Tho, Phu Loi, Hiêp An, Định Hòa, Phú Mỹ and the communes: Tân An, Tuong Binh Hiep, Chanh My.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
