Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Pursuant to Decision No. 656/TTg dated September 13, 1996 of the Prime Minister on economic and social development in the Central Highlands region for the period 1996-2000 and 2010.

At the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development,

DECISION:

Article 1. The Steering Committee for "economic and social development in the Central Highlands region for the period 1996-2000 and 2010" is hereby established with the following members:

1- Comrade Nguyen Cong Tan, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chair.

2- Comrade Nguyen Van Dang, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vice-Chairman in charge.

3- Comrade Nguyen Duy Khanh, former Deputy Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, Vice-Chairman.

4- Comrade Tao Huu Phung, Deputy Minister of Finance, Member.

5- Comrade Pham Quang Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Transport, Member.

6- Comrade Phan Thanh Xuan, Deputy Director of the National Ethnic Minorities Commission, Member.

7- Comrade Nguyen Tan Van, Deputy Minister of Construction, Member.

Article 2.-The Steering Committee for the program of economic and social development in the Central Highlands has the following tasks:

1- To take the lead and coordinate with relevant ministries, sectors, and People's Committees of the Central Highlands provinces in implementing the contents of Decision No. 656/TTg dated September 13, 1996 of the Prime Minister on "Economic and social development in the Central Highlands region for the period 1996-2000 and 2010."

2- To monitor and direct relevant ministries, sectors, and levels to implement their assigned contents in accordance with the objectives, requirements, and progress of each phase within the program of economic and social development in the Central Highlands region.

3- To summarize experiences in organizing and directing implementation and issues that need supplementation when carrying out the program of economic and social development in the Central Highlands region, and report to the Government.

4- To publicize the program of economic and social development in the Central Highlands region to encourage participation from all sectors and levels.

Article 3.- Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, and government-affiliated agencies, Chairmen of People's Committees of the Central Highlands provinces, and those named in Article 1 shall be responsible for implementing this decision.
