DECREE

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and the establishment of communes under

 Sa Thay district, Dak To district, and Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province,

DECREE:

Article 1. The administrative boundaries of communes under Sa Thay district, Dak To district, and Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province shall be adjusted as follows:

1. Establishing Dak Nang commune under Kon Tum city based on the adjustment of 2,291.16 hectares of natural area and 3,210 population from Ia Chim commune.

Dak Nang commune has 2,291.16 hectares of natural area and 3,210 population.

Administrative boundary of Dak Nang commune: East borders Commune Dong Ket, Kon Tum city; West borders Sa Thay district; South borders Ia Chim commune; North borders Ngok Bay commune.

2. Adjusting the administrative boundaries of communes under Sa Thay district and Dak To district

a. Adjusting 380 hectares of natural area of Po Ko commune under Dak To district to be managed by Ho Moong commune, Sa Thay district.

b. Adjusting 520 hectares of natural area and 762 population of Po Ko commune and 72 hectares of natural area and 1,263 population of Dien Binh commune to be managed by Dak To town, Dak To district.

c. Adjusting 1,190 hectares of natural area and 654 population of Po Ko commune to be managed by Dien Binh commune, Dak To district.

d. Adjusting 645 population of Sa Binh commune to be managed by Ho Moong commune, Sa Thay district.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries:

- Ia Chim commune retains 6,686.76 hectares of natural area and 8,063 population.

Kon Tum city has 43,298.15 hectares of natural area and 134,358 population, with 21 subordinate administrative units, including wards: Du Tan, Quang Trung, Ngo My, Truong Chinh, Thang Loi, Thong Nhat, Quyet Thang, Nguyen Trai, Tran Hung Dao, Le Loi, and communes: Dak Cam, Dak Ba, Chu Hreng, Dak Ro Wa, Hoa Binh, Dong Ket, Ia Chim, Vinh Guang, Kroong, Ngok Bay, and Dak Nang.

- Po Ko commune has 8,081 hectares of natural area and 1,837 population.

- Dien Binh commune has 4,717.20 hectares of natural area and 5,367 population.

- Dak To town has 3,994.40 hectares of natural area and 10,869 population.

Dak To district has 50,640.47 hectares of natural area and 36,965 population, with 9 subordinate administrative units, including communes: Kon Dao, Tan Canh, Ngok Tu, Dak Ro Nga, Dak Tram, Van Lem, Dien Binh, Po Ko, and Dak To town.

- Ho Moong commune has 6,925.06 hectares of natural area and 4,218 population.

- Sa Binh commune retains 4,045.35 hectares of natural area and 4,083 population.

Sa Thay district has 241,535.52 hectares of natural area and 35,741 population, with 11 subordinate administrative units, including communes: Ya Ly, Ya Tang, Ya Xier, Sa Son, Sa Nghia, Sa Nhon, Sa Binh, Ho Moong, Mo Rai, Ro Koi, and Sa Thay town.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette.

Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
