Regarding the establishment of Thanh Xuan District and Cau Giay District,

the establishment and renaming of some wards under Hanoi City

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi City and the Minister - Head of the Organization and Cadre Department of the Government,

 

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, Thanh Xuan District and Cau Giay District are established, and some wards under Hanoi City are established and renamed as follows:

I. Establishing Thanh Xuan District based on the entire natural area and population of Thanh Xuan Thuong, Thanh Xuan Bac, Thanh Xuan, Kim Giang, and Phuong Lieu Wards; 78.1 hectares of natural area and 20,862 people of Nguyen Trai Ward; 98.4 hectares of natural area and 5,506 people of Khue Truong Ward (under Dong Da District); the entire natural area and population of Nhan Chinh Commune (under Tu Liem District) and Khue Dien Commune (under Thanh Tri District).

- Thanh Xuan District has a natural area of 913.2 hectares and a population of 117,863, including 11 administrative units directly under it:

1- Thanh Xuan Ward (renamed to Thanh Xuan Trung Ward) with 106.2 hectares of natural area and 11,036 people.

2- Thanh Xuan Thuong Ward with 65.8 hectares of natural area and 13,516 people.

3- Kim Giang Ward with 22.3 hectares of natural area and 8,387 people.

4- Phuong Lieu Ward with 102.8 hectares of natural area and 13,030 people.

5- Thanh Xuan Nam Ward is established based on 32.8 hectares of natural area and 8,266 people of Thanh Xuan Bac Ward.

The boundary of Thanh Xuan Nam Ward: East borders Ha Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan Trung Ward; West borders Trung Van Commune (Tu Liem District); South borders Tan Trieu Commune (Thanh Tri District), Van Mo Ward (Ha Dong Town, Ha Tay Province); North borders Thanh Xuan Bac Ward.

6- Thanh Xuan Bac Ward retains 48.4 hectares of natural area and 17,857 people.

7- Khue Mai Ward is established based on 98.4 hectares of natural area and 5,506 people of Khue Truong Ward.

The boundary of Khue Mai Ward: East borders Phuong Lieu Ward; West borders Khue Trung Ward; South borders Ding Cong Commune (Thanh Tri District); North borders Khue Truong Ward (Dong Da District).

Khue Truong Ward (Dong Da District) retains 33.5 hectares of natural area and 10,010 people after adjusting administrative boundaries.

8- Khue Trung Ward is established based on 78.1 hectares of natural area and 20,862 people of Nguyen Trai Ward (Dong Da District).

The boundary of Khue Trung Ward: East borders Khue Mai Ward; West borders Thanh Xuan Thuong Ward; South borders Khue Dien Ward and Ding Cong Commune (Thanh Tri District); North borders Nguyen Trai Ward (Dong Da District).

Nguyen Trai Ward (Dong Da District) retains 23.4 hectares of natural area and 11,230 people after adjusting administrative boundaries and is renamed to Ngat Tu So Ward.

9- Khue Dien Ward is established based on 138.9 hectares of natural area and 5,929 people of Khue Dien Commune.

The boundary of Khue Dien Ward: East borders Ding Cong Commune (Thanh Tri District); West borders Ha Dinh Ward; South borders Kim Giang Ward and Dai Kim Commune (Thanh Tri District); North borders Khue Trung Ward.

10- Ha Dinh Ward is established based on the remaining part of Khue Dien Commune, including 58.6 hectares of natural area and 4,245 people.

The administrative boundary of Ha Dinh Ward: East borders Khue Dien Ward; West borders Thanh Xuan Trung Ward, Thanh Xuan Nam Ward; South borders Tan Trieu Commune (Thanh Tri District) and Kim Giang Ward; North borders Thanh Xuan Thuong Ward.

11- Nhan Chinh Ward is established based on the entire natural area and population of Nhan Chinh Commune, including 160.9 hectares and 9,229 people.

The boundary of Thanh Xuan District: East borders Hai Ba Trung District; West borders Tu Liem District and Ha Dong Town (Ha Tay Province); South borders Thanh Tri District; North borders Dong Da District and Cau Giay District.

After adjusting administrative boundaries, Dong Da District retains 993.9 hectares of natural area and 268,858 people, including 21 wards: Van Mieu, Van Chuong, Cat Linh, Quoc Tu Giam, Hang Bot, O Cho Dua, Nam Dong, Quang Trung, Trung Lieu, Tho Quan, Khanh Thien, Trung Phung, Phuong Lien, Kim Lien, Trung Tu, Lang Ha, Phuong Mai, Lang Thượng, Thinh Quang, Khue Truong, Ngat Tu So.

After adjusting administrative boundaries, Thanh Tri District retains 9,791 hectares of natural area and 195,757 people, including 24 communes: Tan Trieu, Yen So, Thanh Trieu, Tran Phu, Hoang Lieu, Linh Nam, Tu Hiep, Vinh Tuy, Dai Kim, Thinh Lieu, Ding Cong, Thanh Lieu, Yen My, Vinh Quynh, Hieu Hoa, Ta Thanh Oai, Tam Hiep, Lien Ninh, Ngoc Hoi, Duyen Ha, Dong My, Dai Duc, Van Phuc, and Van Dien Town.

II. Establishing Cau Giay District based on the entire natural area and population of Cau Giay, Nghia Do, Nghia Tan, Mai Dich Towns and Dich Vuong, Yen Hoa, Trung Hoa Communes of Tu Liem District.

Cau Giay District has a natural area of 1,210.07 hectares and a population of 82,994, including 7 administrative units directly under it:

1- Quan Hoa Ward is established based on Cau Giay Town, with 99.9 hectares of natural area and 13,716 people.

2- Nghia Do Ward is established based on Nghia Do Town, with 128.7 hectares of natural area and 13,753 people.

3- Nghia Tan Ward is established based on Nghia Tan Town, with 57.37 hectares of natural area and 14,519 people.

4- Mai Dich Ward is established based on Mai Dich Town, with 208.4 hectares of natural area and 13,087 people.

5- Dich Vuong Ward is established based on Dich Vuong Commune, with 262.7 hectares of natural area and 9,613 people.

6- Yen Hoa Ward is established based on Yen Hoa Commune, with 207.2 hectares of natural area and 9,204 people.

7- Trung Hoa Ward is established based on Trung Hoa Commune, with 245.8 hectares of natural area and 9,102 people.

The boundary of Cau Giay District: East borders Tay Ho District, Ba Dinh District, and Dong Da District; West borders Tu Liem District; South borders Thanh Xuan District; North borders Tu Liem District and Tay Ho District.

After adjusting administrative boundaries, Tu Liem District retains 7,499.63 hectares of natural area and 156,690 people, including 16 administrative units, namely communes: My Dinh, Tay Tu, Phu Dien, Minh Khai, Thuan Cat, Lien Mac, Thuy Phuong, Dong Ngac, Xuan Dinh, Co Nhue, Trung Van, Me Tri, Tay Mo, Dai Mo, Xuan Phuong, and Cau Dien Town.

III. Renaming the following wards:

- Renaming Cau Giay Ward under Ba Dinh District to Ngoc Khanh Ward.

- Rename Phường Nguyễn Trãi under District Dong Da (after administrative boundary adjustment) to Phường Ngã Tư Sở.

- Rename Phường Thanh Xuân under District Thanh Xuan (after administrative boundary adjustment) to Phuong Thanh Xuan Trung.

Article 2. - This Decree takes effect from the date of issuance. All previous regulations that conflict with this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi City and the Minister - Head of the Organization and Cadre Management Agency of the Government shall be responsible for implementing this Decree.
