DECREE
Regarding the establishment of Bac Giang City under Bac Giang Province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the People's Committee of Bac Giang Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Bac Giang City under Bac Giang Province shall be established based on the entire natural area, population, and administrative units directly under Bac Giang Town.
Bac Giang City has an area of 3,221 hectares and a population of 126,810, comprising 11 administrative units including the wards: Tran Phu, Ngo Quyen, Le Loi, Hoang Van Thu, My Du, Tran Nguyen Han, Tho Xuan, and the communes: Ding Ke, Xuong Giang, Da Mai, Song Mai.
The administrative boundary of Bac Giang City: East borders Lang Giang District; West borders Viet Yen District; South borders Yen Dung District; North borders Tan Yen District.
Bac Giang Province has 10 district-level administrative units including the districts: Yen The, Tan Yen, Viet Yen, Hiep Hoa, Yen Dung, Lang Giang, Luc Ngan, Luc Nam, Son Dong, and Bac Giang City.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The People's Committee of Bac Gi ant Province, the Minister of Interior, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
