CIRCULAR

AMENDING AND COMPLEMENTING CIRCULAR NO. 19/2005/TT-BVHTT OF MAY 12, 2005 ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION TO GUIDE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ADVERTISING ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION NO. 12/2000/NQ-CP OF THE GOVERNMENT ON PROHIBITING TOBACCO ADVERTISING

 

On May 12, 2005, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) issued Circular No. 19/2005/TT-BVHTT to guide implementation of the Advertising Ordinance and Resolution No. 12/2000/NQ-CP of the Government on prohibiting tobacco advertising. To better implement regulations regarding prohibition of tobacco advertising, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issues this Circular to amend and supplement Point 2.7 Clause 2 and Clause 4 of Circular No. 19/2005/TT-BVHTT as follows:

1) Amending and supplementing Point 2.7 Clause 2:

"Point 2.7: At tobacco retail outlets, displaying more than one pack (containing 10 cigarettes, 12 cigarettes, or 20 cigarettes) or more than one box (containing 10 packs) of a single brand of tobacco is prohibited."

2) Supplementing at the end of Clause 4:

"Clothing, utensils, means of transportation, production tools, construction projects, and other objects that are monochromatic or multicolored but do not depict or form an emblem or trademark of a tobacco product shall not be considered as tobacco advertising."

This Circular takes effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette./.
