Decision No. 79/1998/QĐ-TTg On the establishment of the National Wage Steering Committee

DECISION OF THE PRIME MINISTER

Regarding the establishment of the State Salary Steering Committee

PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

DECISION:

Article 1. The State Salary Steering Committee shall be established with the following members:

1. Chairman: Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung,

2. Vice-Chairman in charge: Minister, Head of the Organization-Civil Service Board of the Government Do Quang Trung,

3. Vice-Chairman: Minister of Finance Nguyen Sinh Hung,

4. Members:

Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Hang,

Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Xuan Gia,

Minister of National Defense Pham Van Tra,

Minister of Public Security Le Minh Huong,

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Minh Hien,

Minister of Health Do Nguyen Phuong,

Minister, Director of the Government Office Lai Van Cu,

Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Van Tu.

Invite a member of the Central Organization Department to participate in the Steering Committee.

Article 2. The State Salary Steering Committee shall have the following tasks:

Directing the development of state salary policies;

Reviewing economic and social policies related to state salary policies prepared by ministries and sectors according to their assigned roles for submission to the Government for issuance;

Organizing the implementation of state salary policies and directing the evaluation of the implementation of these policies at each stage;

Proposing measures to address new issues arising during the implementation of state salary policies in a timely manner.

Article 3. The Steering Committee shall have a joint staff team comprising experts from the member agencies of the Steering Committee. The joint staff team shall be located at the Organization-Civil Service Board of the Government, with functions and responsibilities defined by the Chairman.

Article 4. Annually, the Ministry of Finance shall allocate funds for the operation of the State Salary Steering Committee based on the Chairman's proposal.

Article 5. This Decision replaces Decision No. 318/CT dated October 16, 1991 of the Council of Ministers (now the Government) regarding the establishment of the Steering Committee for implementing the state salary policy reform project.

Article 6. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of signature.

Article 7. The Minister, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Chairmen of provincial People's Committees under the central government, and those named in Article 1 are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
