DECISION OF THE MINISTER
MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Regarding the amendment of Clause 2 and Clause 3 of Article 11 of the Regulation on quality testing and residue levels of plant protection products for registration purposes in Vietnam. Issued together with Decision No. 50/2003/QĐ-BNN dated March 25, 2003, of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Pursuant to Decree No. 73/CP dated November 1, 1995 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;
Considering the proposal of the Director of the Science, Technology, and Product Quality Department, and the Director of the Plant Protection Department,
DECIDES:
Article 1. Amending Clause 2 and Clause 3 of Article 11 of the Regulation on quality testing and residue levels of plant protection products for registration purposes in Vietnam (issued together with Decision No. 50/2003/QĐ-BNN dated 25/3/2003 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development) as follows:
1/ Clause 2 of the Article is amended as follows:
Large-scale trials are conducted on a large scale, with an area of from 300 to 500 square meters per trial plot, without repetition; they must be carried out in two agricultural production regions (North and South), at least one location in each region, and during one crop season. For crops or pests present only in one agricultural production region, trials must be conducted at least at two typical locations within that region.2For perennial crops and special trial subjects (pests in storage, forest pests and diseases, etc.), the size of the trial plot shall be implemented according to the specialized trial procedures.
2/ Clause 3 of Article 11 is amended as follows:
For plant protection products, the isolation period must be determined in two agricultural production regions (North and
), at least one location in each region, and over two crop seasons. For crops present only in one agricultural production region, the determination of the isolation period must be conducted at two locations within that region. MaleThe Head of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Plant Protection Department, the Director of the Science, Technology, and Product Quality Department, the Heads of units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Directors of Provincial Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, and related organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision.
Article 2. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.

The Head of the Ministry's Office, the Director of the Plant Protection Department, the Director of the Science, Technology and Product Quality Department, the Heads of units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Directors of Provincial Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision.
