PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;

Pursuant to the proposals of the Chairman of the Government Price Control Board in the reports numbered 535/BVGCP dated June 21, 2000, and 559/BVGCP-TLSX dated June 28, 2000; opinions of relevant ministries and sectors at the meeting on the gasoline and diesel fuel business held on June 21, 2000,

Article 1. As of July 12, 2000, implement the maximum retail price limit for regular automobile gasoline at 4,800 VND per liter; the wholesale price for mazut oil at 2,300 VND per kilogram.

The Government Price Control Board shall coordinate with the Ministry of Trade to guide and organize the implementation of the aforementioned price adjustments.

Article 2. The Ministry of Trade assigns the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation the responsibility to import sufficient quantities of gasoline and diesel fuel to meet domestic production and consumption needs according to schedule. The Ministry of Finance shall monitor and promptly address capital difficulties for units assigned the task of importing gasoline and diesel fuel. The State Bank of Vietnam shall instruct commercial banks to ensure adequate and timely provision of foreign currency for the import payment of gasoline and diesel fuel by enterprises.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect from July 12, 2000. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, and Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees directly under the Central Government are responsible for implementing this Decision.
