REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF LANG SON CITY IN LANG SON PROVINCE

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
BASED ON THE DECREE NO. 72/2001/NĐ-CP OF OCTOBER 5, 2001 ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT ON CLASSIFICATION OF URBAN AREAS AND URBAN MANAGEMENT LEVELS;
CONSIDERING THE PROPOSAL SUBMITTED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LANG SON PROVINCE AND THE MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS,
DECREE:
Article 1. ESTABLISH LANG SON CITY IN LANG SON PROVINCE ON THE BASIS OF THE ENTIRE AREA AND POPULATION OF LANG SON TOWN.
LANG SON CITY HAS AN AREA OF 7,769.35 HA AND A POPULATION OF 106,110, INCLUDING EIGHT PRIMARY ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS COMPRISING FIVE WARD: HOANG VAN THU, TAM THANH, CHI LANG, DONG KINH, VINC TRAI AND THREE COMMUNES: HOANG DONG, MAI PHA, QUANG LAC.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE BOUNDARIES OF LANG SON CITY: TO THE EAST ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNES OF HOP THANH, GIA CAT, TAN LIEN AND CAO LOC MARKET TOWN (CAO LOC DISTRICT); TO THE WEST ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNE OF DONG GIAP (VAN QUAN DISTRICT), XUAN LONG (CAO LOC DISTRICT); TO THE SOUTH ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNES OF TAN THANH, YEN TRACH (CAO LOC DISTRICT) AND VAN THUY (CHI LANG DISTRICT); TO THE NORTH ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNES OF THUY HUNG, THACH DAN (CAO LOC DISTRICT).
Article 2. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the Heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
Article 3. THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF LANG SON PROVINCE, THE MINISTER OF HOME AFFAIRS AND THE HEADS OF THE RELATED AUTHORITIES SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS DECREE./.
