Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to Decree No. 72/2001/NĐ-CP dated October 5, 2001 of the Government on the classification of cities and urban management levels;
Considering the proposal of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Haiphong City, the Minister of Construction, the Minister of Home Affairs,
DECISION:
Article 1. Recognize Haiphong City as a Class I city.
Article 3. This Decision takes effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
The Minister of Construction, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Ministers of relevant ministries, heads of relevant agencies, and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Haiphong City are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
