DECISION OF THE PRIME MINISTER
On terminating the operation of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia
directing the compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia
PRIME MINISTER
Based on the Law on the Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs,
DECISION:
Clause 4 of Article 6The operation of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia established pursuant to Decision No. 112/1998/QD-TTg dated June 30, 1998 of the Prime Minister shall be terminated as of August 31, 2007. As of September 1, 2007, the Office of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia and the Vietnamese Encyclopedia Publishing House shall be transferred to the management of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
Article 2. The Chairman of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia shall directly be responsible for handing over all aspects of work, assets, documents, funds... of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia (including the Office of the Council and the Vietnamese Encyclopedia Publishing House) to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in accordance with regulations; the handover shall have the witnessing and confirmation of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Government Inspectorate.
Article 3. The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences shall take the lead and coordinate with relevant agencies to propose organizational plans for the compilation and publication of various types of Vietnamese Encyclopedias and Encyclopedic Dictionaries, and report to the Prime Minister; proactively arrange the organization and activities of the Office of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia and the Vietnamese Encyclopedia Publishing House within its authority.
Article 4. This Decision takes effect from the date of issuance.
Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, Chairmen and members of the National Council for the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
