Regarding the establishment of Tan Hiep Town, Hau Giang Province;
establishing wards and communes under Tan Hiep Town
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the People's Committee of Hau Giang Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries of Phung Hiep District are adjusted to establish Tan Hiep Town, Hau Giang Province; establishing wards and communes under Tan Hiep Town as follows:
1. Establishing Tan Hiep Town based on the entire natural area and population of Phung Hiep Town, Dai Thanh Commune, Tan Thanh Commune, 1,932.76 hectares of natural area and 11,482 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Commune, 220 hectares of natural area and 1,170 inhabitants of Tan Phuoc Hung Commune under Phung Hiep District.
Tan Hiep Town has 7,894.93 hectares of natural area and 61,024 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Tan Hiep Town: East borders Soc Trang Province; West and South border Phung Hiep District; North borders Chau Thanh District.
2. Establishing wards and communes under Tan Hiep Town:
a) Establishing Ngua Bay Ward based on 217.61 hectares of natural area and 8,964 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Town, 78.65 hectares of natural area and 1,500 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Commune, 176.69 hectares of natural area and 3,100 inhabitants of Dai Thanh Commune.
Ngua Bay Ward has 472.95 hectares of natural area and 13,564 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Ngua Bay Ward: East borders Dai Thanh Commune; West borders Lai Hieu Ward; South borders Lai Hieu and Hiep Thanh Wards and Dai Thanh Commune; North borders Hiep Loi and Dai Thanh Communes.
b) Establishing Lai Hieu Ward based on 357.99 hectares of natural area and 7,160 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Town, 338.38 hectares of natural area and 1,996 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Commune, 120 hectares of natural area and 670 inhabitants of Tan Phuoc Hung Commune.
Lai Hieu Ward has 816.37 hectares of natural area and 9,826 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Lai Hieu Ward: East borders Hiep Thanh Ward; West and South border Phung Hiep District; North borders Ngua Bay Ward and Hiep Loi Commune.
c) Establishing Hiep Thanh Ward based on 828.57 hectares of natural area and 8,632 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Town, 296.61 hectares of natural area and 1,917 inhabitants of Dai Thanh Commune, 100 hectares of natural area and 500 inhabitants of Tan Phuoc Hung Commune.
Hiep Thanh Ward has 1,225.18 hectares of natural area and 11,049 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Hiep Thanh Ward: East borders Soc Trang Province; West borders Lai Hieu Ward; South borders Phung Hiep District; North borders Ngua Bay Ward and Dai Thanh Commune.
d) Establishing Hiep Loi Commune based on 1,515.73 hectares of natural area and 7,986 inhabitants of Phung Hiep Commune.
Hiep Loi Commune has 1,515.73 hectares of natural area and 7,986 inhabitants.
The administrative boundary of Hiep Loi Commune: East borders Dai Thanh Commune; West borders Phung Hiep District; South borders Lai Hieu and Ngua Bay Wards; North borders Dai Thanh Commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries to establish Tan Hiep Town and its affiliated wards and communes:
- Tan Hiep Town has six directly subordinate administrative units, namely Ngua Bay, Lai Hieu, and Hiep Thanh Wards, and Dai Thanh, Hiep Loi, and Tan Thanh Communes.
- Dai Thanh Commune under Tan Hiep Town retains 2,383.60 hectares of natural area and 11,537 inhabitants.
- Phung Hiep District retains 48,481.05 hectares of natural area and 205,460 inhabitants, with fourteen directly subordinate administrative units, namely Phung Hiep, Tan Phuoc Hung, Tan Binh, Hoa An, Phuong Binh, Phuong Phu, Hoa My, Hiep Hung, Thanh Hoa, Binh Thanh, Tan Long, Long Thanh Communes, and Cay Duong and Kinh Cung Towns.
- Phung Hiep Commune under Phung Hiep District retains 1,783.26 hectares of natural area and 6,579 inhabitants.
- Tan Phuoc Hung Commune under Phung Hiep District retains 5,722.31 hectares of natural area and 19,925 inhabitants.
After establishing Tan Hiep Town, Hau Giang Province has seven directly subordinate administrative units, namely Vien Thanh and Tan Hiep Towns, and Vi Thuong, Chau Thanh, Chau Thanh A, Long My, and Phung Hiep Districts.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The People's Committee of Hau Giang Province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
