Regarding the establishment of the city of Son La under the province of Son La
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La Province,
DECREE:
Article 1. Establish the city of Son La under the province of Son La based on the entire natural area, population, and administrative units directly subordinate to the town of Son La.
The city of Son La has a natural area of 32,493 hectares and a population of 107,282, with 12 administrative units, including the wards: To Hieu, Chien Le, Quyet Thang, Quyet Tam, Chien An, Chien Sinh, and the communes: Chien Coi, Chien Co, Chien Den, Chien Som, Chien Ngan, Hua La.
The administrative boundaries of the city of Son La: East borders Mai Son district and Muong La district; West borders Thuong Chau district; South borders Mai Son district; North borders Thuong Chau district and Muong La district of Son La province.
12/2025/TT-BNNMT dated June 19, 2025 issued by the Minister of Agriculture and EnvironmentThis Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
