THE MINISTER OF POSTS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
WHEREAS the Quality Goods Ordinance dated December 24, 1999;
Pursuant to Decree No. 90/2002/NĐ-CP dated November 11, 2002 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications;
Pursuant to Decree No. 160/2004/NĐ-CP dated September 3, 2004 of the Government detailing the implementation of certain provisions of the Post and Telecommunications Ordinance on telecommunications;
Pursuant to Decree No. 179/2004/NĐ-CP dated October 21, 2004 of the Government on state management of product quality;
Pursuant to Decision No. 27/2001/QĐ-TCBĐ dated January 9, 2001 of the General Post Office (now the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications) promulgating regulations on the development, issuance, and publication of standards in the postal sector;
At the proposal of the Director of the Science and Technology Department,
DECISION:
Article 1.- Abolish the mandatory application of the following Industry Standards:
1. Fax equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-133: 1994;
2. Automatic telephone sets - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-134: 1994;
3. Optical fiber cable information system - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-139: 1995;
4. Low-speed modems for public telephone networks - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-142: 1995;
5. Technical standard for plastic pipes used in underground cable lines, Standard number TCN 68-144: 1995;
6. PCM-30 and PCM-120 equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-145: 1995;
7. RAX-128 switch operation and maintenance procedures, Standard number TCN 68-150: 1995;
8. Narrowband ISDN terminal multiplexing equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-152: 1995;
9. Low-speed picture telephones - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-154: 1995;
10. ISDN telephone equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-155: 1995;
11. 140 Mbit/s digital multiplexer equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-157: 1995;
12. 34 Mbit/s digital multiplexer equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-159: 1995;
13. 48V power supply equipment for telecommunications devices - Technical standard, Standard number TCN 68-162: 1996;
14. Digital channel multiplexing equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-165: 1997;
15. Lightning surge protection equipment and power line overvoltage and overcurrent protection equipment - Technical requirements, Standard number TCN 68-167: 1997;
16. Lightning protection and grounding regulations for telecommunications facilities, Standard number TCN 68-174: 1998;
17. Construction regulations for optical fiber cable communication projects, Standard number TCN 68-178: 1999;
18. Industry Standards, Industry Procedures, and Industry Regulations issued by the General Post Office (now the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications) before 1994 that are still in effect.
Article 2.- The Industry Standards listed in Article 1 shall be voluntary standards.
Article 3.- This Decision shall take effect fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Article 4. The Director of the Office, Heads of Science and Technology Departments, heads of functional units, subordinate units of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and related organizations and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision.
