JOINT CIRCULAR

Regarding the supplementation and amendment of Circular Joint Circular No. 01/1999/TTLT/BVGCP-BCN guiding the implementation of electricity sales prices for household consumption to rural households. 

After a period of implementing the electricity sales price to rural households according to Joint Circular No. 01/1999/TTLT/BVGCP-BCN dated February 10, 1999 of the Government Pricing Board and the Ministry of Industry; to align with the current situation and based on the proposal of Vietnam Electricity Corporation (document No. 109/EVN/TCKT dated January 10, 2000), the Government Pricing Board and the Ministry of Industry have agreed to abolish point 2.4, item II of Joint Circular No. 01/1999/TTLT/BVGCP-BCN dated February 10, 1999 which states: "In areas without power grids, now being invested in by Vietnam Electricity Corporation according to the regulations of the Government, bringing electricity to villages and communes and directly signing power purchase and sale contracts with rural households, the electricity sales price for household consumption shall be 700 dong/kWh" and amend it as follows.

1. For power grids received or newly constructed, directly managed, and signed power sales contracts for household consumption to rural households, the retail electricity price for household consumption shall be implemented according to the tiered pricing system as prescribed by the State at different periods; specifically, the current implementation shall follow the retail electricity tiered pricing schedule as stipulated in Decision No. 87/1999/QĐ-BVGCP dated September 23, 1999 of the Government Pricing Board.

2. Implementation provisions.

- The retail electricity tiered pricing level mentioned in point 1 above shall be implemented from March 1, 2000.

- Vietnam Electricity Corporation, People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities are responsible for implementing this Circular.
