DECREE NO. 09/2000/NĐ-CP OF THE GOVERNMENT DATED MARCH 21, 2000 ON THE ISSUANCE
OF THE LIST OF GOODS AND TAX RATES OF VIETNAM TO IMPLEMENT THE ASEAN COMMON EFFECTIVE PREFERENTIAL TARIFFS AGREEMENT (CEPT) FOR THE YEAR 2000
WHEREAS the Law on Export Tax and Import Tax dated December 26, 1991; the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Export Tax and Import Tax dated July 5, 1993; and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Export Tax and Import Tax No. 04/1998/QH10 dated May 20, 1998;
WHEREAS Decision No. 292/NQ-UBTVQH9 dated November 8, 1995 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the Program to Reduce Import Taxes of Vietnam to Implement the ASEAN Common Effective Preferential Tariffs Agreement (CEPT);
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
The Decree hereby promulgates the List of Goods and Tax Rates of Vietnam for the implementation of the ASEAN Common Effective Preferential Tariffs Agreement (CEPT) for the year 2000.
The Ministry of Finance shall guide the implementation of this Decree in accordance with the provisions of the ASEAN Common Effective Preferential Tariffs Agreement (CEPT). Within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the dossier as mentioned in Sub-clause b, Clause 1, Article 3 above, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will review and submit to the competent authority for decision (Issues exceeding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' jurisdiction will be referred to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision).This Decree takes effect from January 1, 2000. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, and Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees directly under the Central Government are responsible for enforcing this Decree.
At the proposal of the Minister of Finance,
DECREE:
Article 1. The List of Goods and Tariff Rates for Various Items of Vietnam to Implement the Agreement on Trade Preferential Measures with Common Effective Preferential Tariffs (CEPT) among ASEAN Countries for the year 2000 is hereby attached along with this Decree.
Article 2. The Ministry of Finance shall guide the implementation of this Decree in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement on Trade Preferential Measures with Common Effective Preferential Tariffs (CEPT) among ASEAN countries.
Article 3. This Decree takes effect from January 1, 2000. The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, and Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees directly under the central government are responsible for enforcing this Decree.
