MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS

Pursuant to the Press Law dated December 28, 1989; the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Press Law dated June 12, 1999 and Decree No. 51/2002/NĐ-CP dated April 26, 2002 of the Government detailing the implementation of the Press Law; the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Press Law;

Pursuant to Decree No. 178/2007/NĐ-CP dated December 3, 2007 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of Ministries and ministerial-level agencies;

Pursuant to Decision No. 1000/QĐ-TTg dated August 8, 2007 of the Prime Minister on transferring state management functions and tasks in press and publishing from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Ministry of Information and Communications, and transferring organizational structures and personnel engaged in press and publishing work;

Considering the proposal of the Director of the Press Department,

DECISION:

Article 1. The printing and issuance of Journalist Cards for the period 2006-2010 (new model) shall be based on the original form and content of the Journalist Card issued pursuant to Decision No. 81/2005/QĐ-BVHTT dated December 27, 2005, with the only change being the signature authority on the Journalist Card, which will now be the Minister of Information and Communications instead of the Minister of Culture and Information.

Article 2. Journalists currently using the Journalist Cards for the period 2006-2010 issued by the Ministry of Culture and Information may continue to use them until December 31, 2010.

Article 3. News agencies are responsible for introducing the new model of the Journalist Card in newspapers and radio stations to facilitate recognition by organizations and individuals and to ensure smooth operation of their professional activities.

The Standard Measurement Quality Control Department shall be responsible for organizing and guiding the implementation of the Regulations adopted herein.

Article 4. The Head of the Office, the Director of the Press Department, news agencies, news agency supervisory bodies, and Departments of Culture and Information are responsible for implementing this Decision./.
