On the basis of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward dated November 26, 2003, and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward in 2005;

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Pursuant to Decree No. 121/2005/ND-CP dated September 30, 2005 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Education and Training.
Establish the Council for Awarding the National Title of People's Teacher and Distinguished Teacher in 2006.
DECISION:
Article 1. 1. The composition of the Council for Awarding the National Title of People's Teacher and Distinguished Teacher in 2006 includes:

a) Chairman of the Council: Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Minister of Education and Training;
b) Vice-Chairman of the Council: Mr. Le Hong Son, President of the Vietnam Teachers' Union;
- Assoc. Prof. Dang Ngoc Chien, Vice-President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor;
Chairman of the Vietnam Agricultural and Rural Development Trade Union;
- Distinguished Teacher Dang Huynh Mai, Deputy Minister of Education and Training;
- People's Artist Le Tien Tho, Deputy Minister of Culture
- Information;
- Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi Xuyen, Distinguished Doctor, Deputy Minister of Health;
- Lt. Gen. Nguyen Huu Kham, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense;
- Mr. Do Xuan Thang, Deputy Director of the Central Committee for Encouragement of Competition
- and Rewards.
2. The Council shall operate in accordance with the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward, Decree No. 121/2005/ND-CP dated September 30, 2005 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on Encouragement of Competition and Reward, and other relevant legal documents.
3. The Council shall dissolve itself upon completion of its assigned tasks.
4. The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of government-affiliated agencies, Heads of related agencies, and the individuals named in Article 2 are responsible for implementing this Decision./.

1. This Decision takes effect from the date of signature.
