REGARDING THE ADJUSTMENT OF RATES FOR INMARSAT SERVICES

WHEREAS Decree No. 90/2002/NĐ-CP dated November 11, 2002 of the Government stipulates the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications;
WHEREAS Decision No. 217/2003/QĐ-TTg dated October 27, 2003 of the Prime Minister on the management of rates for postal and telecommunications services;
CONSIDERING the proposal of Vietnam Maritime Electronics Information Joint Stock Company at Document No. 2429/KD dated December 8, 2005 regarding the adjustment of service rates and connection rates for Inmarsat services; Document No. 6781/BC-GCTT dated October 17, 2005 of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corporation on providing Inmarsat information to meet national defense and security needs; and flood prevention;
AT THE PROPOSAL OF THE HEAD OF THE PLANNING AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT,

Article 1. The highest rate (maximum rate) that can be charged from customers for Inmarsat services shall be the rate specified in Decision No. 839/2001/QĐ-TCBĐ dated October 5, 2001 on temporarily establishing the tariff table for Inmarsat services issued by the General Post Office, now the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
Article 2. Enterprises providing Inmarsat services shall base their specific customer rates for Inmarsat services on the maximum rate set forth in Article 1. The prices set by enterprises must be based on cost, ensure competition in accordance with the law, and comply with state regulations on price management.
Article 3. Prior to implementing the rates, enterprises must register with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
Article 4. This Decision shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decision are hereby abolished.
Article 5. The Director of the Office, the Head of the Planning and Finance Department, the Heads of units under the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Vietnam Maritime Electronics Information Joint Stock Company, the General Director of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, and related units are responsible for enforcing this Decision./.
