Issuing the Prison Regulation

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Ordinance on Enforcement of Criminal Sentences dated March 8, 1993, and the Ordinance amending and supplementing certain articles of the Ordinance on Enforcement of Criminal Sentences dated October 19, 2007;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Public Security and the Minister of National Defense,

DECREE:

Article 1. This Decree promulgates the Prison Regulation

Article 2. This Decree applies to prisoners serving their sentences in prisons and pre-trial detention centers

Article 3. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette and shall supersede Decree No. 60-CP dated September 16, 1993 of the Government promulgating the Prison Regulation, and Decree No. 60/2001/NĐ-CP dated September 4, 2001 amending Article 3 of the Prison Regulation promulgated together with Decree No. 60-CP dated September 16, 1993.

Article 4. The Ministers of Public Security and National Defense are responsible for guiding, organizing, and supervising the implementation of this Decree.

The Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, and Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
