DECREE OF THE GOVERNMENT

Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries to establish communes and towns

in the districts of Cho Moi, Tri Ton, Tinh Bien, and Phu Tan, An Giang province

THE GOVERNMENT

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, 

DECREE:

Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes and towns in the districts of Cho Moi, Tri Ton, Tinh Bien, and Phu Tan, An Giang province as follows:

1. Establishing the town of My Luong under Cho Moi district based on 808 hectares of natural area and 15,540 population from My Luong commune.

Administrative boundary of the town of My Luong: East borders Tann My and My An communes; West borders Long Dien B and Long Kien communes; South borders Long Kien and My An communes; North borders Long Dien A and Tann My communes.

After establishing the town of My Luong, My Luong commune retains 1,241 hectares of natural area and 13,466 population. Renaming My Luong commune to My An commune.

2. Establishing the town of Ba Chuc under Tri Ton district based on 2,056 hectares of natural area and 13,122 population from Ba Chuc commune.

Administrative boundary of the town of Ba Chuc: East borders Le Tri commune; West borders Vinh Phuoc commune; South borders Luong Phi commune; North borders Lac Quoi commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundary to establish the town of Ba Chuc, Ba Chuc commune retains 6,471 hectares of natural area and 3,658 population. Renaming Ba Chuc commune to Vinh Phuoc commune.

3. Establishing Nui Voi commune under Tinh Bien district based on 1,225 hectares of natural area and 4,387 population from Chi Lang town.

Administrative boundary of Nui Voi commune: East borders Chau Pu district; West borders Chi Lang town; South borders Tan Loi commune; North borders Vinh Trung commune.

After adjusting the administrative boundary to establish Nui Voi commune, Chi Lang town retains 713 hectares of natural area and 7,372 population.

4. Establishing Tan Trung commune under Phu Tan district based on 790.15 hectares of natural area and 11,163 population from Tan Hoa commune.

Administrative boundary of Tan Trung commune: East borders Cho Moi district; West borders Tan Hoa commune; South borders Chau Pu and Cho Moi districts; North borders Tan Hoa commune, Phu My town, and Dong Thap province.

After adjusting the administrative boundary to establish Tan Trung commune, Tan Hoa commune retains 921.85 hectares of natural area and 8,188 population.

Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.

Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, the Minister of Interior, and the Heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
