Pursuant to Decree No. 15/CP dated March 2, 1993 of the Government on the tasks, powers, and responsibilities for state management of Ministries and ministerial-level agencies;

Pursuant to Government Decree No. 43/2000/NĐ-CP dated August 30, 2000 detailing and guiding the implementation of certain provisions of the Education Law;

Based on Decision No. 12/1999/QĐ-BGD&ĐT dated March 15, 1999 of the Minister of Education and Training promulgating the final primary school examination regulations;

At the proposal of the Director of the Primary Education Department.

Article 1. Now amend Clauses 2 and 3 of Article 11 in the Final Primary School Examination Regulations issued pursuant to Decision No. 12/1999/QĐ-BGD&ĐT dated March 15, 1999 and Decision No. 06/2000/QĐ-BGD&ĐT dated March 14, 2000 of the Minister of Education and Training as follows:

"2. Subjects: Vietnamese and Mathematics. Time for each subject (excluding time for distributing and copying the questions) is 60 minutes, with a 45-minute break between subjects.
3. The examination shall be held in one session according to the examination day specified by the Ministry of Education and Training in the School Year Plan."

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect from the 2001-2002 academic year. All previous provisions contrary to this Decision are hereby abolished.

Article 3. Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities; Heads of the Office, Heads of units and organizations under the Ministry of Education and Training; Directors of Departments of Education and Training are responsible for implementing this Decision.
