Decision No. 129/2002/QD-BTC of the Minister of Finance stipulates the supplementation of preferential maritime fees and charges for cruise ships and reduction of anchorage fees for international shipping vessels. This document shall take effect from the date of issuance.

  • Cruise ships arriving in Vietnam with a total gross tonnage of up to 200 GT docking at ports with a minimum frequency of 10 trips per month per port shall be eligible for preferential maritime fees and charges (Article 1.1).
  • The level of anchorage fees at bays and harbors for international shipping vessels waiting without loading/unloading for a period of one month or more shall be set at 50% of the prescribed anchorage fee (Article 1.2).
  • Other provisions regarding maritime fees and charges shall continue to be implemented according to Decision No. 48/2001/QD-BTC and current guiding documents issued by the Minister of Finance.
  • This Decision shall take effect from the date of issuance (Article 2).
  • Organizations and individuals subject to payment of maritime fees and charges; port authorities and related agencies shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.

ISSUED BY THE MINISTER OF FINANCE NUMBER 129/2002/QD-BTC OCTOBER 8, 2002 ON AMENDING THE LEVELS OF SHIPPING FEES AND PORT DUES

THE MINISTER OF FINANCE

Pursuant to the Ordinance on Fees and Charges and guiding documents for the implementation of the Ordinance on Fees and Charges;
To encourage foreign vessels to bring tourists to Vietnam and to alleviate difficulties for vessels mooring in non-operational bays;
At the proposal of the Director General of the State Revenue Administration,

DECISION:

Article 1:

1. Apply preferential shipping fees and port dues for cruise ships with a gross tonnage (GT) of up to 200 GT arriving in Vietnam according to a stable route with a minimum frequency of ten (10) trips per month per port as follows:

2. Apply a mooring fee at ports and bays for international cargo vessels waiting without loading/unloading for a period of one (01) month or more at fifty percent (50%) of the mooring fee stipulated in point a1, Section III, Part B, Appendix Table 1 issued together with Decision No. 48/2001/QD-BTC dated May 28, 2001 of the Minister of Finance.

Article 2: This Decision takes effect from the date of issuance. Other provisions regarding shipping fees and port dues not mentioned in this Decision shall continue to be implemented in accordance with Decision No. 48/2001/QD-BTC dated May 28, 2001 and current guiding documents on shipping fees and port dues issued by the Minister of Finance.

Article 3: Organizations and individuals subject to payment of fees and charges, port authorities, and related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decision.
