AMENDING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE REGULATIONS ON CANCELING BANKNOTES ISSUED TOGETHER WITH DECISION NO. 326/2004/QĐ-NHNN DATED APRIL 1, 2004 OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE BANK OF VIETNAM

Pursuant to the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 1997 and the Law Amending and Supplementing Certain Provisions of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2003;

Pursuant to Decree No. 52/2003/ND-CP dated May 19, 2003, issued by the Government, detailing the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the State Bank of Vietnam;

BASED ON THE GOVERNMENTAL DECREE NO. 81/1998/NĐ-CP DATED OCTOBER 1, 1998 ON PRINTING, COINING, STORING, TRANSPORTING AND CANCELING PAPER MONEY AND METAL COINS; STORING AND TRANSPORTING PRECIOUS ASSETS AND SECURITIES IN THE BANKING SYSTEM;

Article 1. AMENDMENTS AND SUPPLEMENTS TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE REGULATIONS ON CANCELING BANKNOTES ISSUED PURSUANT TO DECISION NO. 326/2004/QĐ-NHNN DATED APRIL 1, 2004 OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE BANK OF VIETNAM ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. Article 6 shall be amended as follows:

"The canceling council shall be established by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam.

- Chairperson of the Council: Director of the Issuance and Treasury Department;

- Vice-Chairperson in charge: Deputy Director of the Issuance and Treasury Department;

- Other Vice-Chairpersons are leaders of relevant Departments and Departments;

- Members include: Head of the Issuance and Treasury Sub-department in Ho Chi Minh City, some department-level leaders of the Issuance and Treasury Department."

2. Clause 3 of Article 11 shall be amended as follows:

"The counting team may temporarily borrow a certain amount of money (from the total amount received from the canceling treasury) to cover shortages in bundles due to missing notes, mixed types of money, counterfeit money, etc. The temporarily borrowed amount shall be stored, monitored, recorded, and settled according to regulations. The remaining temporarily borrowed amount shall be canceled at the final time when canceling banknotes of the same denomination."

Article 2. The Standard Measurement Quality Control Department shall be responsible for organizing and guiding the implementation of the Regulations adopted herein.

Article 3. The Chief of the Office, the Director of the Issuance and Treasury Department, and the Heads of related units are responsible for implementing this Decision.
