CIRCULAR

Issuing the list of prohibited and restricted drugs, chemicals, and antibiotics

Pursuant to Decree No. 01/2008/NĐ-CP dated January 3, 2008, of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

Pursuant to the Veterinary Law 2004;

Pursuant to Decree 33/2005/NĐ-CP dated March 15, 2005 of the Government detailing the implementation of certain Articles of the Veterinary Law;

1. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issues:

- List of chemicals and antibiotics prohibited from use in aquaculture production and trade (Annex 1)

- List of drugs, chemicals, and antibiotics prohibited from use in veterinary practice (Annex 2).

- List of chemicals and antibiotics restricted from use in aquaculture production and trade (Annex 3)

- List of drugs, chemicals, and antibiotics restricted from use in veterinary practice (Annex 4)

2. This Circular shall take effect 45 days from the date of signature. This Circular replaces Decision No. 07/2005/QĐ-BTS dated February 24, 2005 of the Minister of Fisheries on issuing the List of chemicals and antibiotics prohibited from use in aquaculture production and trade; Decision No. 26/2005/QĐ-BTS dated August 18, 2005 of the Minister of Fisheries on supplementing the List of fluoroquinolone antibiotics prohibited from use in aquaculture production and trade for export to the United States and North America markets; and Decision No. 41/2008/QĐ-BNN dated March 5, 2008 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on issuing the List of veterinary drugs permitted for limited use and prohibition in Vietnam in 2008.

3. Heads of the Office, Directors of the Department of Animal Health, Heads of relevant units; Directors of Provincial Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development; domestic and foreign organizations and individuals involved in aquaculture production and trade, veterinary drug production and trade are responsible for implementing this Circular./.
