DECREE
Regarding the establishment of communes and wards under the city of Vung Tau and Tan Thanh district, and the division of Long Dat district into Long Dien and Dat Do districts, Binh Duong-Vung Tau province
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong-Vung Tau province,
DECREE
Article 1. Now, the administrative boundaries are adjusted to establish communes and wards under the city of Vung Tau and Tan Thanh district, and to divide Long Dat district into Long Dien and Dat Do districts, Binh Duong-Vung Tau province as follows:
1. Establish Ward Thang Nhat under the city of Vung Tau based on 440.04 hectares of natural area and 20,745 population from Ward 9.
Administrative boundary of Ward Thang Nhat: East borders Ward 10; West borders Ward 6; South borders Wards 8 and 9; North borders the East Sea.
After establishing Ward Thang Nhat, Ward 9 will remain with 322.20 hectares of natural area and 12,315 population.
2. Establish Commune Tan Phuc under Tan Thanh district based on 2,933.12 hectares of natural area and 7,399 population from Phuoc Hoa commune.
Administrative boundary of Commune Tan Phuc: East borders Phuoc Hoa commune; West borders Ho Chi Minh City; South borders Phuoc Hoa commune; North borders Phu My town and Toc Tien commune.
After establishing Commune Tan Phuc, Phuoc Hoa commune will remain with 5,363.69 hectares of natural area and 10,015 population.
3. Divide Hoi Bai commune under Tan Thanh district into Tan Hoa commune and Tan Hai commune.
Tan Hoa commune has 3,063.57 hectares of natural area and 9,237 population.
Administrative boundary of Tan Hoa commune: East borders Tan Hai and Chau Pha communes; West borders Phuoc Hoa commune; South borders Tan Hai commune and the city of Vung Tau; North borders Toc Tien and Chau Pha communes.
Tan Hai commune has 2,242.13 hectares of natural area and 10,091 population.
Administrative boundary of Tan Hai commune: East borders Ba Ria town; West borders Tan Hoa commune; South borders the city of Vung Tau and Ba Ria town; North borders Tan Hoa and Chau Pha communes.
4. Adjust 207.33 hectares of natural area of Long Hai town under Long Dat district to be managed by Phuoc Hai commune.
After adjusting the administrative boundaries between Long Hai town and Phuoc Hai commune:
Long Hai town will remain with 1,051.67 hectares of natural area and 35,167 population.
Phuoc Hai commune will have 1,592.94 hectares of natural area and 20,720 population.
5. Divide Long Dat district into Long Dien and Dat Do districts.
Long Dien district has 7,699.36 hectares of natural area and 110,485 population, including seven administrative units comprising communes An Ngai, Tam Phuoc, An Nhat, Phuoc Hung, Phuoc Tinh, and towns Long Dien and Long Hai.
Administrative boundary of Long Dien district: East borders Dat Do district; West borders the city of Vung Tau and Ba Ria town; South borders the East Sea; North borders Ba Ria town.
Dat Do district has 18,957.63 hectares of natural area and 62,830 population, including eight administrative units comprising communes Phuoc Long Tho, Phuoc Thanh, Long Tan, Lang Dai, Loc An, Phuoc Hoi, Long My, and Phuoc Hai.
Administrative boundary of Dat Do district: East borders Xuyen Moc district and the East Sea; West borders Long Dien district and Ba Ria town; South borders the East Sea; North borders Chau Duc district.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days after its publication in the Official Gazette. All previous provisions contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong-Vung Tau province, the Minister of Home Affairs, and the heads of related agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
