DECREE-LAW
NO.: 181 DATE: MAY 2, 1948
OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
CONSIDERING the need for currency,
AT THE PROPOSAL of the Minister of Finance,
AFTER CONSULTATION with the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the Council of Ministers,
ISSUES THIS DECREE-LAW:
Article 1
The issuance and circulation of paper hào denominations of five hào (0đ50) and two hào (0đ20) are hereby permitted throughout Vietnam.
Article 2
The Ministry of Finance is responsible for issuing the paper hào.
Article 3
The total amount of paper hào to be issued and the characteristics of each denomination shall be determined by a decree of the Minister of Finance.
Article 4
The State Treasury and individuals are required to accept the paper hào denomination of twenty đồng bạc (20 đb).
Article 5
Any person who produces counterfeit paper hào or engages in actions that undermine the value of the paper hào shall be prosecuted before a military court.
Article 6
The Minister of Finance, the Minister of Interior Affairs, and the Minister of Justice are responsible for implementing this decree-law.
