NUMBER: 216/SL DATE: AUGUST 20, 1948
OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
CHAIRMAN OF THE VIETNAMESE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC GOVERNMENT
- BASED ON THE PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTERS OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND NATIONAL DEFENSE;
- CONSIDERING THE NEED TO RECOGNIZE THE MERITS OF PERSONS WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE RESISTANCE STRUGGLE;
- AFTER DISCUSSION IN THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS;
ISSUES THE DECREE:
ARTICLE 1
NOW ESTABLISHES THE "RESISTANCE ORDER" TO AWARDS VIETNAMESE CITIZENS, WHETHER THEY ARE EMPLOYEES WORKING IN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OR CITIZENS OR ASSOCIATIONS THAT HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE ARMED FORCES OR NATIONAL DEFENSE AND RESISTANCE ORGANIZATIONS.
ARTICLE 2
THE RESISTANCE ORDER HAS THREE CLASSES:
CLASS ONE IS ISSUED BY THE PRESIDENTIAL DECREE OF THE STATE OF VIETNAM, ISSUED UPON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENSE AND THE MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS; CLASSES TWO AND THREE ARE ISSUED BY THE JOINT DECREE OF THE MINISTRIES OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND NATIONAL DEFENSE.
ARTICLE 3
DETAILS OF IMPLEMENTATION SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE MINISTERS OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND NATIONAL DEFENSE.
ARTICLE 4
THE MINISTERS OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND NATIONAL DEFENSE SHALL ENFORCE THIS DECREE.
