Amending and supplementing some articles of Decree No. 109/2012/NĐ-CP dated December 26, 2012 of the Government stipulating functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure

of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

At the proposal of the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences;

The Government promulgates this Decree amending and supplementing some articles of Decree No. 109/2012/NĐ-CP dated December 26, 2012 of the Government stipulating functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences,

Article 1. Amending and supplementing some articles of Decree No. 109/2012/NĐ-CP dated December 26, 2012 of the Government stipulating functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences as follows:

1. AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ARTICLE 3 AS FOLLOWS:

In this Article, units specified from Clause 1 to Clause 5 are units assisting the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, which may establish departments; units specified from Clause 6 to Clause 37 are scientific research units; units specified from Clause 38 to Clause 41 are other public service units.

Based on development needs, the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences decides to establish, rename, reorganize, merge, or dissolve other organizations and units subordinate to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in accordance with the law."

2. Amend Clause 1 of Article 4 as follows:

"1. The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences has a President and not more than four Vice Presidents. The President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences is appointed by the Prime Minister and is responsible to the Government, the Prime Minister, and the law for all activities of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.”

Article 2. Effectiveness and responsibility for implementation

1. This Decree takes effect from February 14, 2014.

2. The President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of agencies under the Government, Chairpersons of provincial People's Committees directly under the central government are responsible for implementing this Decree./.
