THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND INFORMATION

Pursuant to Decree No. 81/CP dated November 8, 1993 on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Culture and Information;

Pursuant to Decree No. 30/2000/NĐ-CP dated August 11, 2000 of the Government on abolishing some permits and converting some permits into business conditions;

To implement the State administrative reform policy, enhancing the effectiveness of state management over culture and information;

At the proposal of the Legal Affairs Department Director;

Article 1. The validity period for certain types of cultural-information activity permits shall be as follows:

1. Permits valid for two years:

- Permit for operating video cassette shops;

- Permit for duplicating video cassettes;

- Permit for operating dance halls;

- Permit for operating karaoke establishments;

- Temporary permit for practicing professional artistic performance.

2. Permits valid for five years:

- Permit for providing information services on the Internet;

- Permit for specialized economic information services;

- Permit for receiving foreign television programs via satellite;

- Permit for practicing professional artistic performance;

- Permit for internal printing activities.

Article 2. This Decision shall take effect from the date of issuance.

Article 3. Provincial People's Committees under the Central Government, Directors of Departments of Culture and Information, Heads of the Ministry's Office, Heads of the Ministry's Inspectorate, and Department and Bureau Directors under the Ministry of Culture and Information related to this matter shall be responsible for implementing this Decision.
