MINISTER OF AQUATIC RESOURCES
Pursuant to Decree No. 43/2003/NĐ-CP dated May 2, 2003 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Fisheries;
Pursuant to Directive No. 07/2002/CT-TTg dated February 25, 2005 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the management of antibiotic and chemical drug use in the production and business of animal-origin food products;
Considering the proposal of the Director of the Bureau of Quality Management, Food Safety, and Aquatic Animal Health regarding the supplementation of the list of Fluoroquinolones antibiotics prohibited for use in the production and business of aquatic products exported to the United States and North America market;
DECISION:
Article 1. The list of Fluoroquinolones antibiotics prohibited for use (limited to zero) in the production and business of aquatic products exported to the United States and North America market shall take effect from August 20, 2005 (annex attached).
Article 2. Enterprises engaged in the production and business of aquatic products shall be responsible for controlling residues of chemicals and antibiotics in the production and business of aquatic products generally according to Decision No. 07/2005/QĐ-BTS dated February 24, 2005 of the Minister of Fisheries, and controlling Fluoroquinolones antibiotics according to this document for batches of aquatic products exported to the United States and North America market.
Article 3. The Director of the Bureau of Quality Management, Food Safety, and Aquatic Animal Health shall be responsible for organizing the implementation and supervising the implementation of this Decision.
The Head of the Ministry's Office; Heads of Departments, Inspectorates under the Ministry; Directors of the National Fisheries Extension Center and Heads of units directly under the Ministry; Directors of Fisheries Departments, Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development managing fisheries; Chairmen of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, Chairman of the Vietnam Fishery Association, and related units shall be responsible for disseminating, publicizing, and enforcing this Decision.
