This Circular stipulates the list of infectious diseases and compulsory vaccines and medical products that must be used for people at risk of contracting diseases in epidemic areas or traveling to such areas. At the same time, this Circular also specifies the vaccination history of infectious diseases under the Expanded Immunization Program in Vietnam.

- Children aged 9-18 months shall be vaccinated with the measles vaccine twice; children aged 1-5 years shall receive a supplemental measles vaccine once.
- Children under 1 year old shall be vaccinated with the hepatitis B vaccine four times, each dose one to six months apart.

ISSUING THE LIST OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND THE SCOPE AND SUBJECTS REQUIRED TO USE COMPULSORY VACCINES AND MEDICAL PRODUCTS

Pursuant to the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases No. 03/2007/QH12 dated November 21, 2007;
Pursuant to Decree No. 188/2007/NĐ-CP dated December 27, 2007 of the Government on the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health;
The Ministry of Health hereby promulgates the list of infectious diseases, the scope, and subjects required to use compulsory vaccines and medical products as follows:
Article 1. List of infectious diseases, scope, and subjects required to use compulsory vaccines and medical products for people at risk of contracting infectious diseases in epidemic areas or traveling to such areas

2. Scope and Subjects Required to Use:
a) The use of vaccines and medical products listed above shall be carried out according to the emergency declaration issued by the competent authority. For yellow fever, the subjects required to use the vaccine are those coming from yellow fever endemic areas as recommended by the World Health Organization.
b) Those who have been vaccinated with vaccines and medical products within their immunity period are not required to be vaccinated again. The vaccination time is based on the vaccination certificate issued by the competent health authority.
