Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 188-SL dated May 29, 1948 on the new civil service system and setting a common salary scale for all ranks;
In response to the proposals by the Ministers of Interior Affairs and Finance;
Considering the current situation;
Pursuant to the resolution of the Council of Ministers after consultation with the Standing Committee of the National Assembly;
ISSUES THE DECREE-LAW:
Article 1: As from August 1, 1949, civil servants working in government agencies shall receive salaries as follows:
a) A basic salary amount to serve as the basis for calculating retirement contributions at 10% to be paid into the Retirement Fund, established in the common salary scale below:

b) A supplementary salary amount, determined according to the cost of living and may be adjusted annually by a joint decree of the Ministries of Interior Affairs and Finance, approved by the Council of Ministers.
Article 2: All previous regulations inconsistent with this Decree-Law are hereby abolished.
Article 3: The Ministers shall implement this Decree-Law accordingly.
