DECISION
APPROVING THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR TOURISM IN VIETNAM PERIOD 1995-2010
PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Government Organization Law dated September 30, 1992;
Considering the Report No. 377/TCDL dated April 24, 1995, of the General Department of Tourism;
DECISION:
Article 1. Approves the "Overall Development Plan for Tourism in Vietnam Period 1995-2010" No. 377/TCDL dated April 24, 1995, of the General Department of Tourism.
Article 2. On the basis of strategic goals for economic and social development, policies and guidelines of the Party and State, conditions, characteristics, and tourism potential of each region and locality, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies and agencies under the Government, Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities, within their respective functions and responsibilities, shall organize and direct the implementation of the "Overall Development Plan for Tourism in Vietnam Period 1995-2010" in long-term plans, five-year plans, and annual plans, as well as specific tourism development planning projects.
Article 3. The Director of the General Department of Tourism shall take the lead and coordinate with the Chairman of the State Planning Commission and the Ministers of Construction, Transport, Culture and Information, and other relevant sectors and agencies to assist the Prime Minister in directing the planning and development of tourism in accordance with the economic and social development strategy of each province and region, in a unified national framework, especially in localities with major tourist centers such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh.
Article 4. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies and agencies under the Government, Chairpersons of People's Committees of provinces and centrally governed cities are responsible for implementing this Decision.
