DECREE
Regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of Hai Lang district and Trieu Phong district to expand the administrative boundary of Quang Tri town; the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and wards to establish wards under Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province

THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;
Considering the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province,
DECREE:
Article 1. The administrative boundaries of Hai Lang district and Trieu Phong district are adjusted to expand the administrative boundary of Quang Tri town; the administrative boundaries of communes and wards are adjusted to establish wards under Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province as follows:
1. Adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hai Le commune and Hai Lam commune in Hai Lang district; Trieu Thượng commune in Trieu Phong district to expand the administrative boundary of Quang Tri town:
a. Adjusting 89.5 hectares of natural area of Hai Le commune in Hai Lang district to be managed by Hai Lam commune.
Hai Lam commune has 8,295.05 hectares of natural area and 4,350 population.
Administrative boundary of Hai Lam commune: East borders Ha Lang township and Hai Truong commune, Hai Lang district; West borders Hai Le commune, Quang Tri town and Hai Phuc commune, Dakrong district; South borders Hai Son commune, Hai Lang district; North borders Hai Phu and Hai Thuong communes, Hai Lang district.
b. Adjusting 191.56 hectares of natural area and 1,515 population of Trieu Thượng commune in Trieu Phong district; 6,576.55 hectares of natural area and 4,181 population remaining of Hai Le commune in Hai Lang district to be managed by Quang Tri town.
Trieu Phong district has 35,300.42 hectares of natural area and 108,064 population, with 19 subordinate administrative units, including communes: Trieu Thượng, Trieu An, Trieu Van, Trieu Phuoc, Trieu Do, Trieu Trach, Trieu Thuan, Trieu Dai, Trieu Hoa, Trieu Lang, Trieu Son, Trieu Long, Trieu Tai, Trieu Dong, Trieu Trung, Trieu Ai, Trieu Giang, Trieu Thanh and Aiz Tu township.
Hai Lang district has 42,368.12 hectares of natural area and 99,429 population, with 20 subordinate administrative units, including communes: Hai Lam, Hai An, Hai Ba, Hai Xuan, Hai Quy, Hai Que, Hai Vinh, Hai Phu, Hai Thuong, Hai Duong, Hai Thien, Hai Thanh, Hai Hoa, Hai Tan, Hai Truong, Hai Tho, Hai Son, Hai Chanh, Hai Khe and Ha Lang township.
Article 2. This Decree shall take effect fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. All previous regulations contrary to this Decree are hereby abolished.
Article 3. The Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and the heads of relevant agencies are responsible for implementing this Decree.
