Amending and supplementing some articles of Decision No. 02/2008/QĐ-BGTVT

dated January 31, 2008 of the Minister of Transport on approving the model of a motor vehicle driver's license

On the basis of Decree No. 86/2012/NĐ-CP dated October 19, 2012, issued by the Government detailing and guiding implementation of certain provisions of the Metrology Law;

Pursuant to Decree No. 51/2008/NĐ-CP dated April 22, 2008 of the Government stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Ministry of Transport;

The Minister of Transport amends and supplements some articles of Decision No. 02/2008/QĐ-BGTVT dated January 31, 2008 approving the model of a motor vehicle driver's license as follows:

Article 1. Amending and supplementing the model of a motor vehicle driver's license at Article 1 of Decision No. 02/2008/QĐ-BGTVT dated January 31, 2008 of the Minister of Transport (attached to this Circular) for issuance to persons operating various types of motor vehicles on roads.

Article 2. Directs the Vietnam Highway Corporation to continue implementing the project to reform management of driver's licenses; organize printing, management, and guidance for the implementation of unified issuance and replacement of driver's licenses nationwide, according to the principle: issued driver's licenses shall continue to be used in accordance with regulations, and new driver's licenses shall be issued to individuals upon request.

Article 3. This Circular takes effect 45 days from the date of signature.

Article 4. The Director of the Ministry’s Office, the Inspector General of the Ministry, Heads of Departments, the Director of the Vietnam Highway Corporation, Directors of Provincial and Central City Transport Departments, Heads of agencies, organizations, and individuals related to this matter are responsible for enforcing this Circular.
